I probably bought it for the same reason you're looking at it. It's cheaper than more well-known brand names. I can't compare them because I don't have any others, but I don't hesitate to buy this one. He does exactly what he says. Easy to put on and seems to be holding up well. You have to use a screwdriver to tighten the nut as I couldn't tighten it enough by hand. Great value for money in my opinion.

I bought these to use with my Vortex Diamondback HD 15x56 binoculars. It worked well right out of the box, but adding a small plastic washer to the pan screw and tripod mount fixed it works perfectly! Adding washers prevents it from coming loose, which is a common problem with tripod mounts. Most of the time I sit on high rocky poles and watch moose. I've used it once in the field since I bought it and I'm completely satisfied!

I bought this for about $17 and for the price it couldn't get any better. For reference, I also have an outdoor mount that replicates it to some degree. The fit, finish, and overall function isn't on the same level as an outdoor mount, but given the price difference, it's hard to argue against choosing this mount.
