Startech's old KVM that still works was made for PS2 Developed keyboards and mice. Modern HP computers do not recognize my USB Logitech Wireless Trackman even with external DC power connected. I had to use a second USB switch to connect the Trackman to computers. This is a reasonable price for a KVM switch. Of course there are much cheaper ones, but most of them don't have a USB hub, just a mouse/kb connection. I'm using a switch to connect two work laptops to a monitor/mouse/keyboard set.
