StarTech goes where no other brand could, lesson learned!

I didn't think it would work as I tried the proprietary C2G 27277 USB male to PS/2 female adapter and it didn't do anything, Windows 10 Pro didn't even recognize it. I've bought other StarTech accessories and they've always worked as intended, but I figured Windows 10 just didn't like the old-school mechanical rubber ball mouse I bought. No doubt StarTech because Windows 10 Pro recognized and configured it right away and my new old school mechanical gaming mouse works! And it's very well made…

IT WORKS! for audio and video accessories

I have a new Dell computer (XPS 8930 Special Edition) with Win10-x64 and my trusted old Logic Controls (now Bematech) LK1800M (132 keys, PS/2 interface, 2 -track magstripe reader and a fully programmable 2-level keyboard (which I program with many e-addys, usernames, etc.), the keyboard doesn't work because it doesn't have a PS/2 connector. I've been using this keyboard since March 2008! I've tried many available active adapters like Sanoxy etc and NONE of them worked properly. So I contacted…

Reliable and reliable USB wedge scanner adapter for PS2 keyboard

This was at least the third adapter used when upgrading our processor. We have many barcode scanners which are old PS2 scanners and keyboard connectors where the scanners are "keyboard wedges" and as we replace devices over the years newer processors have USB keyboards/mice . Simply connect your PS2 barcode scanner to this adapter and then to a USB port on your processor. The keyboard plugs directly into another USB port, and the alt, done, saved a lot of money. I tried others that were…

Sometimes the keys seem to be buffering and lagging, I don't recommend.

I wanted to use my IBM Model M PS2 keyboard on my new computer which doesn't have USB ports. I tried this as StarTech usually makes good products. I used it with Windows 10 Professional. I'm a relatively fast typist and noticed a slight lag when typing. I could live with that, but sometimes it seemed like it was buffering keystrokes - when I hovered over the list, sometimes it just took off and flew, then stopped. I didn't have Sticky Keys or other accessibility features enabled. I ended up…

ready to use

Used with an old AT-101w Dell PS/2 keyboard. I plugged the keyboard into the adapter, then into a USB port on a powered off laptop, then turned on the laptop and the keyboard worked right away (I use this procedure to have Windows 10 look for a driver for new USB devices on startup , This seems like the easiest way, and in recent years Win 10 has gotten a bit better in this regard). The adapter is a bit bulky so this adapter might take up extra desk space or not be convenient to carry, but…

Works well but shakes

I've been using a Kinesis keyboard since the product was released. For writers and editors with small hands, nothing beats a specially designed ergonomic keyboard. I had to upgrade to Windows 10 and there was no PS2 port. I tried adapters that didn't work. Since the motherboard didn't have an exposed USB port, I had to buy a short USB cable, pull the adapter out of the PC case to connect it to the external USB ports on the back. PC To do this, I had to lever out one of the open slots on the…

Works great with my Unicomp M model

This is exactly what I need to convert my Unicomp M PS/2 model to USB. I connected it to the monitor via a USB adapter. If this situation bothers you, now you know it will work. The only downside is that the PS/2 ports are not very secure. Any pressure will pull them apart. I currently have the adapter on my desk with the rest of the cable hanging down. If I let the entire cable/adapter hang off the table, gravity rips them apart. This is the reason for deducting a star. Using tape to hold them

just what i need

I bought this because I have a lot of old KBs and mice that use PS/2 connections, but both of my new systems use USB connections and don't have PS/2 connections, so I'm wearing it I couldn't use many of my old KBs with it. This adapter has a Y on it, KB on one side and a mouse on the other. They are marked with a small raised symbol on the keyboard side and a small raised mouse symbol on the mouse side. It plugs directly into a standard USB port and gives you both a mouse and a KB with an…
