Perfect Fit: Starter and Parts

Installed on a 2004 Taurus 3.0 OHV. Works perfectly. Has been working for 2 months now. Everything was there and perfectly installed. No missing parts.

Great price and delivery on time.

Arrived on time and a perfect replacement for my Taurus. Saved $40 at auto parts stores within 2 miles of home. Feeling guilty about the kernel seems like a waste of time just throwing it in the landfill. Recycle I think.

Faulty starter product

The starter was stuck and had to be levered out with a screwdriver. Then the starter worked fine, but the solenoid did not work at all. So I removed the old solenoid from the old starter and it still works fine. Faulty product.

The connections at the end of the solenoid were a little tight for convenience, but I was able to reconnect the car's connectors. I wrapped everything with electrical tape so there were no short circuits. So far, so good. It's a good powerful starter that gets me going every morning.

Terrible! I posted 2 back before I found out.

NOT Fit Ford Taurus 2000-2007. The solenoid is connected in reverse and as soon as you connect the battery it spins and tries to start the engine. Because of the fasteners and ends of the wires, there's no way to swap out the wiring and get it right. Terrible! I sent 2 back before realizing it was a design flaw and not a bad start. Order from another company. It will only make your life harder.

Traveled 2 months - got 5 stars from me

Works as intended. Started my Taurus with no problems as I had a new starter. I think it's a good buy, especially for the price. I'm not a mechanic by any means, just a broke guy trying to save money and fix cars myself using YouTube videos. I installed it myself in 4 hours. There could have been 2 if I had guessed earlier that the 2 bolts holding the starter were opposite threads.

You can do it and save $$

I have a 2006 Taurus and it fits perfectly. The only unusual thing is that the distance between the connectors is different, so you have to be careful not to short-circuit them (by twisting the power cable). So far it has worked the first time every time and was easy to install. The only downside is that the terminal cover doesn't fit these terminals, leaving them exposed to the elements. If you have at least minimal manual skills, you can easily do it in about half an hour and save a lot of…

Good value for money. Not very good quality control

Just installed this starter on a 2003 Taurus. Installation was easy except for the solenoid power cable to the stud. The nut that was on to connect the magnet wire was the wrong size. I had to dig through a basket full of nuts and bolts to fit them as the nut that came with the kit wasn't properly machined. And good luck finding a 1/4-24 FINE nut. Due to the size, it will not be tightened. It appears that the nut was made carelessly as the threads were tapped too deep, its ID 'slipping' along…
