does the job. for parts

I only bought this because I need a small plastic lock washer to keep it in the tank. Did the trick. I wish I could review a ryobi design that calls for this thing.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Only available in black

Standard yellow trimmers use fuel line

Fuel line was too stiff, tried several times to pull the fuel line through the hole in the tank with increasing force until the line finally broke. I even tried softening the line by putting it in very hot water but I couldn't get the line to go through the hole. Replaced the fuel line with a standard yellow trim line and was able to successfully install to the tank in less than a minute, easily and with no leaks.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Reliability

Reviving my ryobi in spare parts

All the fuel lines on my ryobi trimmer have fallen apart. I bought a standard Lowes fuel line but the connection to the fuel line filter was wrong. It went in easily (I watched a YouTube video that said you don't have to worry about how hard you pull on the fuel line to get it through and that you absolutely must push on the top of the filter ). Now the trimmer not only doesn't leak like it used to, it also works much better.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Spring. seems to have worked.

The weed cutter wasn't working very well so I checked the fuel line and it was brittle and cracked. Thought I might as well change the filter while I was at it, once installed it was working great for about an hour when my engine stalled. It turns out that I put the wrong fuel in, I have two identical canisters, one with a red cap, the other with a yellow one. Apparently over the winter I forgot which cover is 2-stroke and which is regular. I've since bought a new, completely different gasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Replacement Ryobi 790r Fuel Filter and Line

I bought this replacement fuel filter and line because they are the same as the original parts. First you need to remove the plastic cap from the fuel line. Next you need to cut the end of the fuel line at an angle to allow the hose to fit through the hole in the tank. You then need to find or make a bent piece of metal that you can use to push down on the top of the fuel filter port to fully seat the fuel filter in the tank. Then put the plastic donut back on the fuel line and place it on theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Perfect fit for my Ryobi 790r trimmer.

I used this as part of a fuel system rebuild on a Ryobi 790r petrol trimmer. It's very tight. Due to the shape of the fuel tank, installation on this model is difficult and required several attempts. The problem has nothing to do with this part; The problem with this model is the shape of the tank. Difficult to get to the tank, press down on the top of the filter and slide it through the hold. If it were in a more accessible location it wouldn't be so difficult. The rest of the overhaulโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Easily repairable
