Really sticky, good for sonar and sonar

Excellent rear pad. Observant user, make sure you get it exactly where you want it because once it's stuck it won't come loose. there with a bracket and a heat gun.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Almost never

Works great, no holes in the boat!

Works great! Follow the directions and really wait for your poop to dry before applying it. Installed a transducer for the Lawrence DSI, after two runs and top speed in whitewater there was no change to the mount. I will definitely get another one for my other boat!

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

This pad does not remain attached to the aluminum case.

Don't trust this aluminum case product. I mounted the headband to my transom according to the instructions and let it dry for a few days. It didn't last more than two trips under 44 mph. Luckily my sensor cable stayed attached and landed on the swim platform. This product didn't stick. I will only replace the original Stern Saver. I wish there was a money back guarantee. The company backed the product and gave a full refund.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • There is a problem

GRP and Aluminum Installation

Aluminum and GRP Installation: 1. Determine desired location on FLAT SURFACE. 2. Outline the pad with a fine marker. 3. Use the included fine sandpaper to remove ALL paint from the surface down to the shiny bare aluminum. (Skip the sanding step to install the fiberglass.) 4. Clean the surface with the alcohol prep pads provided, then allow to air dry. 5. Remove the 3M backing sheet from the star pad and apply maximum hand pressure for a minute or two to allow the adhesive to set. (NOTE: Take…

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Almost OK

I think this is a great product; however

In theory this is a great product; however, I was a little disappointed with it. I followed the instructions in the email to prepare and install. I let it cure for 3 days before screwing in the transducer and then another 3 days before launching the boat. What disappointed me is that I have used the boat 3 times and there is some separation between the transom and the "transom pad". To fix this I'm ordering some 3M 5200 Black and will compress it in the separation area and then spread around…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine
