Didn't stay in Marine Electronics' rating

Fiberglass boat. Sanded, cleaned and prepared the construction site according to the instructions. Leave it for more than a day. Fell off on first use.

Big bath when the supplied glue dries

One of the two epoxy components has dried. I had to buy it from the Hatdwate store to install it. Otherwise I would rate it a 5. A big flop if the glue included in the kit is useless.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Very expensive

worth your money!

This product is amazing! We bought it to install our depth sounder/fish finder on our boat. Installation was very easy and the stern protector has been very solid so far! The stern lifeguard is permanently attached to our boat and we haven't had any problems since installing it. This article is a must if you don't want to punch holes in your fiberglass boat, which we try to avoid doing. I highly recommend this product, you probably won't be disappointed.

One of them covered several previous transom mounting holes with a solid plate, which they attached to the boat with silicone and screws. Might have worked when they first did it but became a huge leak. I removed it, sealed all the holes (there are 16 of them) with JB weld and then attached this block. Reinstalled the converter and no more leaks! Installation was easy - the instructions were written by…

Mounted on a 15ft boat with rivets. And it works!

This works on an aluminum boat. Good product. Saved me from drilling holes! What I couldn't find were reviews from people who have installed this on an aluminum boat. So here is my rating. I installed a strict lifeguard on my 15ft G3 rivet boat last week. The hardest part was sanding the spot where I installed it. They grind the paint most often onto bare aluminum! The instructions show how to do this using the included sandpaper and template. After sanding that spot I followed the rest of the…
