Great little sketchbook. Arrived slightly bent

I really like the cover of this sketchbook as I prefer flexible covers over hard covers. Especially for travel. The only problem is that the pages are slightly creased. Not too curved, just a little so it doesn't stay flat, making it difficult to control the strong strokes of the watercolor. There was also a small tear on the cover, as well as a small dent. I even returned it for the second one but it was bent too. The paper itself looks great even though I only used water mixed ink. I also…

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • I'll write later

The paper is surprisingly strong for a non-cotton material and holds water well. Several heavy washes can be used before the paper starts to warp. However, to compensate for the lack of cotton fibers, the paper was made much less absorbent, causing watercolor and ink to dry much more slowly. Wet-on-wet washing is very difficult because water "builds up" on the surface of the paper. Also, the paper on both sides is very different. One side has a smooth mechanical texture while the other has a…

You can only draw on one side of each page.

The front of the book says there are 48 pages but only one side of each sheet can be used so only 24 pages/pages can be used. On each sheet of paper, one side is nice and rough - good for watercolor, and the other side is smooth and doesn't take watercolor well. If you use the smooth side to paint, you'll get plenty of watercolor paint into your paintings, even if you don't use a lot of water. In my opinion, this type of paper is not suitable for a watercolor magazine. I also think it's wrong…

  • The off-white color and cold-pressed finish make it ideal for master techniques and finished work.

Great watercolor book!

This watercolor sketchbook is excellent for the price. It arrived with some small scratches on the cover (see last photo) but it wasn't damaged or damaged paper so I don't care. Rate the paper - see the first photo. The usability of both sides of each sheet depends on the level of saturation on each side, since this paper does not absorb large amounts of water without warping and oozing. The pages are not perforated. So if you intend to use this book for finished work, this notebook is probably

A lot could be improved

I personally don't like this magazine. Good page quality but I don't like the cover. I'm also confused by the binding. Since this is a mix of glue and stitch, you'll need to press and break the glue so it lays flat and you can see the unsightly glue. Along with that note, it doesn't really lie flat. -1 star. Because the book is paperback, the corners had to be rounded to keep the edges from fraying and fraying easily. Although the quality of the paper is good, it still warps and buckles as the…
