Experience Comfort and Durability with Stride Rite's Unisex-Child Made2play Xander Athletic Sneaker Review

We've had the shoes for 5 weeks now and the velcro has worn off and isn't sticking anymore. My son plays a lot and wears shoes about 4-5 days a week but I expect them to last longer. We could have tried getting real laces to extend their life but were disappointed overall. The velcro used was supposed to be a cheap alternative to real velcro just to stop the sticking abruptly. Not recommended.

Like many other comments, our son's shoes began to fall apart and chip at the sole. I've tried gluing it several times but to no avail. Also, our son complained that while the shoe fits the front, there are areas that pinch or pinch against his foot and he doesn't have a wide or narrow foot...it just seems like the show has seams that give it problems.

I love Stride Rite for my boys who play outside a lot. I like the right size and option for a wide foot. We had probably six pairs of Made2Play and of those two sets the Velcro lost its integrity before they were even remotely worn which is a huge disappointment. This pair has only been worn for a few weeks and the velcro keeps coming off.

I love the Stride Rite shoes. I know they fit well and will last a long time. My boy is active and these shoes get a lot of use and abuse. When I need to wash them I put them in a laundry bag and they wash well. I air dry them. These are good sturdy shoes. Very well done. We love how easy they are to put on and take off. Velcro is a great feature. It makes life easier. I love the look of these shoes. Very good shoes. I will buy it again when he outgrows this size.

I believe in the Stride Rite brand. I've bought my kid a Stride Rite since he was a toddler. All the shoes I bought were of exceptional quality. I was very disappointed with my last purchase. Xander's style didn't live up to his "Made2play" slogan. The shoes fell apart within a few weeks of playing. I rarely write reviews, but I have to say this. They are called Made2play but after wearing them 4 times the black sole came off. After the second use it started to come off and now it looks like my son is wearing flip flops. Definitely not made 2 play. ☹️

I would give zero stars if possible. Expensive shoes that actually didn't even last a month. The velcro stopped sticking and in fact the velcro pad started to separate from the shoe.

We've been buying Stride Rite shoes for years because they've always worked well for our two kids. This pair didn't live up to the quality we expected from the Stride Rite. The soles on both shoes are coming off but the rest of the shoes are in perfect condition. Extremely dissatisfied with this couple.

This shoe is incredibly durable. I thought they would get a little more flexible once they got used to it, but they aren't. Looks like the sole is made of plywood.

Broke on second wear. The only reason I bought them was because the size I needed was on sale and the brand is known for good shoes, but that wasn't the case. I'm going to glue them on because I don't pay full price for these shoes and I don't have time to shop. Do not buy.

Difficult to find sneakers for a small foot with a high instep. Distance doesn't always help. These sneakers are great. Easy to put on, the strap is long enough and without marks on the instep. They seem to be typical high quality Stride Rite.

This shoe still looks great after a few weeks of constant wear by a very active toddler. Comfortable fit for wide feet. I recommend this brand and model.

I saw a few reviews on here from people saying they got the wrong size but they sent us the size ordered and they are great, love the stride rite shoes for my boys. Great quality too!

We've only had these shoes for a few months and the sole is falling off. This is the first shoe we had an issue with. Could be difficult for toddlers to put on and take off independently.

Very bad quality. The Velcro tip only came out where the stigma was after 5 days of infrequent use. I expected a lot more, especially from $50 shoes.

I bought these for my grandson as I was having trouble finding shoes wide enough for him. It was an instant hit! They fit great! He came home from school and said they were so comfortable he felt like he was wearing slippers! Happy to find these shoes, they look amazing and my grandson loves them! The price was good too!

I always bought Stride Rite for my grandson. He's growing out of them and they're still in good shape. Look good and have good grip.

Large children's sizes are not really large children's sizes. Guessing this was the case, I ordered a large child size to fit my little one and they are perfect.

We've loved Stride Rite shoes for my two kids for years. This pair must be defective or the manufacturing process needs to be changed. We've barely had them for 2 months and I can't believe they're failing like this. I'm frustrated that we missed our returns window because I can't even give them away let alone try to resell them as junk.

My son definitely plays a lot, so I figured a shoe called Made2Play might last us a while. These shoes were delivered to us on 18/07 and yesterday 03/08 I noticed that the sole was already coming off on both sides. I am very frustrated that they are falling apart in 2 weeks even though I don't wear them every day.
