Fits Ascent 2019

15208AA15A Fits Ascent 2019. The Revain installation guide incorrectly states that this is not the case. Our new one was there. It's nice not having to stock separate filters for Outback and Ascent.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Unreliable

Good to know

I don't know what to say about the OEM oil filter. They work and are discounted when you buy the 6 pack. Also, mine came with new washers, not sure if they all work but mine worked which would be nice to know as I didn't think they did so I ordered them too. Oh, now I have a lifetime supply.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Subaru Super Store - Subaru Oil Filter 15208AA15A I ordered two pcs.

Subaru Super Store - Subaru Oil Filter 15208AA15A Ordered two of 6 packs of oil filters. Arrived quickly, correct filter but not with filter seals as there are bullets in the product description - "A plug seal to be changed at every oil change." Buyer warning.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

As cheap as other well known brands (Fram, Mobil, Bosch etc.) , but I can't find any other filter with the same properties. On the downside, even at an aggressive 15,000 miles per year and according to the 5,000-mile oil change schedule listed in the owner's manual, it's less than $20 a year, so risking another filter can't be justified. Then consider that the dealer will charge you $60 to $70 for an oil change and that the low cost is easily justified.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Do your own OEM work!

These are genuine items and will be supplied in an original Subaru box (split in half). Value for money compared to the dealer? How hard is it to change the oil filter on a Subaru? open hood. Blue filter Spock in front of you. Turn. However, the engine oil must be drained beforehand! Note. Instead, don't drain the CVT transmission fluid! It happened to someone I know.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Minor issues

Good for an application.

The Subrau Forester uses oil on purpose, I'm told, so change every 3,000 miles if traveling cross country or every 6,000 miles if just cruising around town. I switch at 4K or 6 months depending on driving habits. Again, mine on purpose (I'm told) is still using about 3/4 quart by then anyway. Bottom line, finding cheap filters like this is a good thing. The retailer charges $12 and local stores charge about $7. So at less than $5 it's a bargain and they're in stock too.

Pros
  • Easy Tuning
Cons
