Description of Sullivan Cutting Edge Frosted Ruler: 6-1/2-Inch-by-12-1/2-Inch Precision & Efficiency Tool

6-1/2 by 12-1/2 inch frosted ruler. Full see-through non-skid frosting keeps the ruler from sliding and makes it light enough to see your fabric through it. Features large numbers make for easy visibility. Diamond powder edge maintains the sharpness of your rotary blade as it spins.

Value for money best in patchwork

Just the right amount of frosting. It's easy to read and I like that the markings are two-tone - less chance of error. Definitely slips a lot less than my other lines. If I need to buy new rulers or replace other rulers I will definitely switch to The Cutting Edge Frosted Ruler.

Like a ruler, good for rulers and ruler stands

Like a ruler. The glaze is not as opaque as some modern rulers. I work with rotating blades a lot and the blades last about 4 times as long as I rotate the blade. I'm tired of going through so many blades and these rulers more than pay for themselves. I have ordered more in other sizes.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Crumpled

Rotary Cutting Ruler

I cut a lot and think this helps my cutter stay sharp. Just the opposite. I have to rotate the ruler so the edge doesn't touch my blade. I called the manufacturer, unfortunately without success. Bought 1 of Revain and other sizes from another source before realizing they weren't as advertised.

Pros
  • Sewing
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Attention, quilt friends! I really like it!

My children encouraged me to find a hobby and I did it. A friend suggested that I invest in a rotary cutter along with the Cutting Edge Ruler line. What a dynamic combination. The blade requires a soft but firm grip and glides smoothly. The Cutting Edge line has a sharpening blade on one side, so the blade gets sharper as I keep cutting. I found a video that explains how to use it properly. I recommend watching the video to make sure you're holding the knife properly when sharpening. I found in

Very pleasant surprise

Update 1/6/2021. I forgot I was looking at that line and since I stumbled across this I thought I should add an update. I still enjoy using The Cutting Edge. The size is perfect for me at home and in quilting groups. My only issue, as I mentioned, is that with a sharpening strip, your cut will be wider than you measure. I tend to undercut a little, which compensates me well. It's just something to know. I saw an article online about this line and was curious enough to try it. I was pleasantly…
