Blurred. End of the story.

Purchased to replace the standard peephole but only to add a protective cover. What was clear in the existing viewer was completely blurry in this one. I just wish I could buy standard quality items without trial and error. I think to try the next peephole!

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • No instructions

Cheap tills. for door fittings and locks

Beware, this is more of a cheap copy of a peephole from a quality hardware store. The lenses (there are 3 of them) are cheap plastic and if you accidentally unscrew them from the wrong side (like mine) they will fall out. then good luck putting them back in the right order. I made this mistake and now I can't use this POS anymore. I ended up going to Home Depot and bought a much better peephole for $10.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Drill 5/8”. for door fittings and locks

Very easy assembly. It would be nice if the size of the hole was indicated on the packaging. 5/8" was just right for this. Insert and twist the back to catch the threads. Once it reaches the end, you can no longer turn it by hand. Since the notches were far apart on either side, I used the top/flat side of a butter knife. Worked great. easy money. Very important.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • something different

Didn't fit my door - Door Viewer

This is a very solid door view viewer, but it was a bit too big for the hole that is already in my door. The glass in my peephole was cracked so I had to replace it, which is easy enough if a large pipe fits the hole. If it was 1/16 inch smaller it would fit perfectly. I live in the US and we use 1/16 inch spacing on our gear and I think that might be an issue.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Added security and peace of mind!

I was nervous after moving into our new home and there was no window or peephole by the front door. I like to see who's outside before I open the door. It was very easy to assemble and looks very nice on the door. I like the sliding lid for extra security. I looked into my house through the hole with the light on and could not make out anything in my house. It's really a one-way spy. Feel safer with it.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expandable

This product is a nightmare. I installed a peep hole and wanted to remove it to improve the hole I had drilled. When I unscrewed it, the outer lens cap came loose and three lenses and a barrel fell out. I've been playing around for a while but can't put them in the right order. Other people have noticed this problem. I'll see if I can return the Revane and look elsewhere for the peephole. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Slightly disappointed

While this peephole offers a wide (220 I think, but doesn't make sense unless your house is round) viewing angle, the angle under the peephole does not. In other words, if there's a box in front of my door or (hopefully not) someone kneeling in front of my door, I can't see it at all. I replaced my 35 year old peephole with this one but wish the old one had a better viewing angle. I returned to the market looking for a better product. In addition, it is a well-made peephole, sturdy and made of…
