Feathers are no problem!

Other reviews speak of problems or defects in the attachment of the springs that mount the lamp to the ceiling pitcher. Note that these lights fit both 5" and 6" cans. The springs are factory set for a 5" can. However, each spring is attached to the light with a screw on the mounting bracket, so either spring can be extended to accommodate any 6" can. If you're trying to use a flashlight, factory set at 5" into a 6" box without "expanding" that mount, the spring mount will loosen or the…

Easy and inexpensive upgrade

Great product and easy installation. Baffles are durable and may require manual handling as you can fiddle with changing the position of the feathers. Consumption is half that of our older 26 watt compact fluorescent lamps with more even light distribution. It's a nice bright white that isn't overwhelming (despite how my photos may look). The price is in line with most major retail stores. And don't be afraid to use them as ballast. You just have to test them all by screwing them into a…

No way to contact the seller cheap but good

These are good retrofit lamps. Easy enough to install. The clamps are different than my old ones but they work. I have a warm white 300K and they are way better than the CREEs I've replaced which are 5 years old and make a buzz and shimmer. it drove me crazy from day one. These lights do not flicker or buzz. i love these lights YAY. Pretty good price. Update: 1 day old and one is already broken :( Loose wires inside the block that I can't put back in the connector. &b They're already in the…

FINALLY I CAN LOOK INTO MY KITCHEN!

I fell victim to 1990's building codes here in San Diego that mandated (horrible) fluorescent lights in my ceiling glasses in the kitchen. The lighting in my kitchen has been HORRIBLE for 30 years. I didn't think fluorescent lighting could be replaced because I figured the transformer and ballast were built into the permanent ceiling light. Thank god I was wrong! I easily removed the ballast and transformer which were attached to a removable base plate at the top of the glass. I cut the wires…

Great Lights - Body & Fairing Kits

I purchased 8 of these retrofit lights in October 2020 and as soon as I installed them one flickered, I thought it would go out but eventually they all deserved it. flickers randomly. I did not call the company immediately because I had a death in my family and it was related to COVID. I finally decided to call Sunco just to see if I needed to tweak anything or unplug and reinstall. I have to say I am sooooo impressed with this company. I wasn't expecting anything but they looked at my order…

Pros
  • Handy Item
Cons
  • Requires Socket

UPDATE: 1 star deducted because I ordered 4 packs and liked the light I found, that mine was the original order of 12 was 5000K not the 3000K I originally ordered. Individual packages state 3000K while the devices themselves state 5000K. A 4 pack was 3000K and we like them a lot more but Sunco had to be more careful because the first batch said 3000K on the package and I would have sent them back had they had the correct markings. Everything else I said still applies. They were easy to install.

Good lighting at a good price, but with a headache.

I have bought about 25 of these units over the years. They work great, there is enough light and the color spectra are accurate. Installation is troublesome due to poor quality installation springs. Of the 25 I installed, 12 springs probably just popped out. My advice: grab the ends and join them, holding them perpendicular to the light. This will help prevent them from popping up - in most cases. It's hard, but it helps. After trying to fit these things into the ceiling, some of them don't sit

Works great with my smart dimmer unlike the previous leds I used

. . They don't flicker at all at all dimming levels. Getting up to $7.50 a piece is also a decent price that's on the cheaper end of the price spectrum I've seen buying recessed LEDs. The brightness corresponds to the declared equivalent of 75 watts. The advertised warm color 2700k is also accurate in my opinion. They were just as easy to install as most other LED downlights I've used in the past. The only thing to note is that these lights require that the dimmer is not set too low to turn on.
