They are definitely OEM quality

Although I have not used the product because I ordered it incorrectly I have checked these bearings and they look great for the price. I couldn't find any flaws on the balls, everything fits together very well.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Unclear indication but good product

I had a very hard time figuring out what size and TPI I needed. Thanks to the reviewers and commenters for clearing everything up. If you can't determine which one you need, you can always order one of these and then send back the ones that don't work.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Fits perfectly; simple and messy.

This 68mm set is perfect. 68mm is the width of the bike frame with pedals. You should state this in the product description for those of us unfamiliar with cycling terminology. I did not use spare cups. Only because the original cups didn't move after several attempts to hit the wood with a hammer. No special tools were needed: a small screwdriver, pliers, axle grease, an old sock.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Worked great on a Firmstrong Bruiser

My races were askew, my cups were scarred and the bearing cages were cracked and bent. This simple fix made my bike feel like new again. Very happy with this purchase. PS I made a press tool using 2.5" square washers, a 6" x 5/8" bolt and nut, some round washers and some grease. Everything for 6 โ‚ฌ in the hardware store. The total cost of the entire repair was less than $20.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No instructions

Repaired my son's bike

The 65mm kit is the right size for most kids bikes with solid Ashtabula style pedal assemblies. I used it to replace the bottom bracket assembly on my 7 year old son's bike - the original bearing ring was crushed and the pedals grabbed and dropped the chain. Now it works great again! IMPORTANT TIP: Make sure the bearings are filled with grease before installing, otherwise metal-on-metal friction in the knuckles will wear them out quickly.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some issues

Used bike starts like new

I have ordered two of these so far. One for a modern 26" Schwinn, Windwood Cruiser, one for a 26" Torker Cruiser. The 24 TPI, 68mm bottom bracket kit was an exact replacement for both bikes. Although I regularly service the bearings with cleaning and lubrication, the changes made were obvious. Both bicycle pedals are like new. The change in performance of the old bearings was so gradual that I didn't even notice until I decided to try these. Every detail used, new cups and everything. Instantโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant

The Sunlite bottom bracket set is the best on the market.

The Sunbeam bottom bracket kit I ordered for my client fitted his bike perfectly. I noticed something was wrong with his old BB set. At first I couldn't figure out what was going on, but then I concluded that the parts were simply worn out and not working like when my customer first bought it or when I first got his bike. So the first thing I told my customer was that his bottom bracket, crank and sprockets needed replacing. So I swapped everything out and decided to just start over. Anywayโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Quick guide

Not "65mm " unless. PLUS "68mm " Overview and Installation

Do not buy a 65mm unless you have also verified your stock shell ID. This "65mm" kit has bearing rings (cups) with an inner diameter of 39mm. If this measurement matches your bearing raceways, buy it. This smaller "65mm" set is for a child's bike. If your race has an inner diameter of 47mm, buy the 68mm kit instead. The large "68mm" set is for normal bikes. Bottom bracket width is a poor parameter for determining which set to order, as some bikes that require a larger "68mm" set have bottomโ€ฆ

April 2015 and then click Add to Cart Now WRONG ITEM added. Instead it adds a "mini" "-bearing that won't do you any good because it's the wrong size. Unfortunately, this is still the ONLY one-piece US crankset sold at Revain that is unpainted, so if you decide to buy it, please check the product description in your cart before you pay!The actual item this ad is for is pretty good. The mini version is pretty good too I think but it's just a different size and fits not if you want a full sizeโ€ฆ
