Impressive initial review even at twice the price I paid

2 for $12 was worth a try. Just installed 1 today on my 75 gallon reef for extra surface propulsion. It works surprisingly well, moving water once it's been a minor deadlock. It moves water at least halfway through a 48-inch tank. My only concern is durability, but if it lasts a year or so I think it's worth the purchase price. Consumes only 3 watts so I connected it to my battery. Backup in case of failure. Installed both on my 75g display after 1 month. I'm still very impressed with them for…

Pros
  • Fully submersible and oil free to avoid pollution
Cons
  • Very expensive

This wave generator really works!

I was so surprised to find that such an inexpensive unit could be so effective at keeping my 55 gallon aquarium clean. I have 2 very large Plecos who obviously love the food I feed them (Bug Bites Pleco formula) anyway they defecate in long strings of feces and I scoop them up twice a day to keep the surrounding area clean. There is also a very large Oscar in this aquarium. At first I just used one of the waveforms and placed it lower in the aquarium thinking it would help blow the feces into…

Pros
  • Convenient pack of 2 pumps
Cons
  • Clarity

Not bad. for aquarium pumps and filters

These are really good wave generators for the price but I was expecting something more powerful. I have two that run on a 38 gallon tank. He moves the water, but seems a bit weak. There's no way to rate it at 528 gallons per hour. No way. I was expecting to see a tsunami in my tank with just one of these, but it's a very weak current at best. The fish seem to like it but I wanted them to get more current so they could get some exercise. Warning: Don't use it with small fish (like neon tetras)…

Pros
  • 360 degree rotation for full flow direction
Cons
  • There are flaws

It works as well as it should

I have a 60g cube display and a home made 40g sump The sump is divided into 3 zones by smoked glass with 3 baffles after the skimmer zone and 1 after the Refuge zone before the last pumping zone. I bought a twin pack to inexpensively place one in the skimmer area and the other in the shelter area in the always on position to keep dirt and other debris from settling and hopefully put them in one of the various filtering methods I use instead drop . from the water column in my swamp. The brief…

Pros
  • Suction cup with joints for different directions
Cons
  • Big and bulky
