I usually buy plasticine at local craft stores but couldn't find a gray color. I've always been happy with playdough, but all my playdough is wrapped in cellophane when I receive it, so I was surprised when I received playdough in a box with no wrapper. The clay was harsh and difficult to work with. I have arthritic hands and it was very difficult for me to shape them. I had to ask one of my sons to work with the clay for a while before I could use it.

So I'm a self-taught polymer clay artist and started working at Super Sculpey with really amazing results! Until I discovered that sculpting is a lot easier with Super Sculpey! You can see that I added Super Sculpey Medium Gray to the sleeves of his shirt in my sculpture. The medium mixes easily with already baked clay! I recommend this Super Sculpey medium to anyone working with polymer clay. That's incredible!

I like this tone because I was looking for a harder consistency. However, I didn't want anything too difficult because I'm just a beginner. It takes a hot minute to get it ready in your hands to macerate, but well worth it in the long run. I'd rather get the clay pre-packaged like this than a block in a box. Where it is grey, it is clearly not transparent. If you are looking for transparent clay, I suggest investing in translucent or translucent clay.

Wow, that sound sucks, what a disappointment. It has a highly misleading title/description. I'm a professional sculptor and I usually use Superscupey Firm. I wanted something softer to sculpt something bigger than usual. This material feels really dry and hard and feels awful on my fingers but also has some light transmission compared to Sculpey which is BAD for detail as it's harder to see. I've read a lot of reviews saying it's too hard and some that it's too soft. From someone who hasn't sculpted in over a decade, I was under the impression that it was significantly softer than I expected (based on some of the feedback here), but also noticeably harder than the old plain white sculpt I was using at the time.
