🔒 ESI Super Cap Seal XL 23 FT: EPDM Rubber for Heavy Caps Over 200 lbs – 2 1/8" W x 1/2" H x 23' L Review

This gasket fitted my 2003 Dodge 1500 perfectly with a Jason fiberglass body. It turned out to be even more durable than I expected! This was very easy to do, although I recommend attaching it to the cap with contact adhesive, not just the double-sided tape strips that come with the kit. I highly recommend it.

I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado 8ft box with a 2009 Empty 8ft fiberglass cover. Over time, the original seal began to fail, so it's time to replace the seal. Seal ESI Super Cap Seal xl 23 ft. I went SHORT! Its length is only 22 feet 4 inches! I needed 22 feet 8 inches. I didn't measure until I installed the new gasket and I was 4 inches short! Now I'm stuck on a short press and had to improvise with the cutoffs.

This is a solid gasket, much better than the unnecessary crushed styrofoam strip that was on my hat. It slipped and licked like crazy. Now it stays outside and seems to have been dry ever since. I took off a star because it didn't have the adhesive or alcohol wipes listed on the box and instructions. The glue could be a bit tackier, I guess that's what the promoter is for, but I don't know as I didn't have it in the package or on hand. It worked anyway

If you are installing a fiberglass cover you may run out of small tubes of 'activator' as it evaporates quickly. I have done my fault. It really could have contained 4 tiny tubes, not 2. It was a little stressful to realize we might not have enough after launch. I installed an empty hi-top on an 8ft bed F 250. Lots of rubber to get it around an inch or so. The first turn was a little tricky to cut properly. The second haircut went smoothly. Good thing there's a little seal left.

I was excited when I ordered this item as it looks like a bomber seal. As other longbox owners have said, the seal for my 2004 Dodge with an 8ft bed was about 6 inches shorter, which forced me to rip off a piece of the old seal. The seal lasted about 3 years before it started leaking at the seam where I put the old seal. Now I'm playing around because my topper is a PITA that needs to be removed. I was impressed with the thickness and the look. The glue was much better than I expected after reading other reviews. I bought caulking glue but didn't need it. The instructions provided were good and easy to follow. This gasket is much thicker than the original foam padding that came with my ARE topper. Well this is a great product but by the measurements it 'should' be long enough for my 8ft aluminum truck tarp. It was about 8 inches too "short". I didn't waste anything, I made the right cuts, but they were short. Too bad I didn't measure it "before". doesn't look long enough. Forced to do so in cold weather, I rushed to get it done and didn't take the time to "measure" the length of the roll before I started (Bad!)
