When I first received this lightweight case I wasn't very impressed. I was sure that a metal latch hitting a plastic cover would wear out very quickly. I was wrong, this plastic is very strong and I think it is also reinforced with fiberglass. Delivered Dec 4th, found on table Dec 15th. I put in a liquid flint insert and tested how long the device remains usable, 10 days. The device was found on my desk in the morning, open and dry. The spring clip broke and since the safety clip was not installed it opened and the liquid evaporated. Wouldn't recommend as this type of lighter is intended for use on a hike or in a survival situation with an emergency whistle and cord.
