Ideal for aluminum rivets

I've used this for 10-24 and 1/4 x 20 aluminum rivets with no problems. That's what this tool is for. If I wanted to install carbon or stainless steel, I would choose a more reliable system. I wish the gun had a little more reach when tightening rivets and removing the tool after the nut was flared was awkward. However, it worked as described and definitely got the job done. I had to knock out a nut out of twenty or so. Otherwise it worked well and I will definitely use it again. If you're…

Pros
  • Comfort grip, spring loaded grip and less than 1.8 lbs. ensure ease of use
Cons
  • So far so good

Yes, great budget tool

Works great. The depth stop washer (the threaded stud closest to the handle) avoids over-pressurizing and damaging the threads until you get the hang of it. I really like the 10-32 mandrel that we often use in aviation, some of the cheaper local models don't have a 10-32 mandrel. (They have 10-24) I bought two tools so I don't have to change mandrels and they are interchangeable, but this one works great. I only use aluminum and don't know how it sits on steel rivets. I really like having a…

BAD DESIGN, BAD PRODUCTION, BAD METAL, BAD TOOLING.

Surebonder is a SUREFAILURE. All I needed was a poor quality tool but this piece of carp was below even the lowest standards! Stay away. Worst of all are the threaded mandrels that screw into your inserts to pull (compress) them. Terribly cheap Chinese junk. Very bad dimensions, material and production. The 10-32 mandrel I used was .008" smaller in diameter than the bolts that are supposed to go into the rivet nuts (high quality American aircraft aluminum) after installation. When I tried to…
