The raccoons will figure out how to defeat them

We had a problem with raccoons coming into our garage through the old cat door, so we replaced them with this model. It was easy to install and program for our cat chip. It worked for a couple of weeks, and then the raccoon figured out how to defeat it. There is a tab that prevents the door from opening inwards unless an authorized chip is read from the outside, but it always allows the wing to open outwards to allow any animal to get out. This raccoon has figured out that he can grab the flap…

Cat Door Double-Edged Sword

Remember that when you give cats the freedom to come and go, you also invite the animals they bring in. We fought against moles, mice, crickets, spiders, bugs, etc. Yes, birds and rabbits. :( Maybe if your outdoor life is barren and there are no such critters around, or your cats have officially given up the cat life, this might work. However, both cats are pleased that they can now accommodate all the critters in their territory, they wanted to create an unwanted jungle out of our house, be…

Great for diet management in a multi-pet household

SureFlap's service and products are great. We have a diabetic cat named Bubbles that the older brother ate. Since she prefers to eat little, our life was to lock her in the dining room, have her complain after 5 minutes, let her go, have her complain after 15 minutes that she is hungry and have her come back. , and so on, and so on, four hours twice a day. Pooh! SureFlap sent us a SureFlap with a delayed click mechanism because our cat is very nervous and nervous. We put the SureFlap in a…

poor quality and terrible customer service

The door works fine as long as it doesn't let other animals through. This is where the positive ends. I bought in May 2017. I only got benefits for about 1 month. My cat has chosen a street cat. I got a new cat in September 2019 and found it not working. I did the troubleshooting from the website, still nothing. I applied in December and was supposed to get a spare part. None of the pieces have arrived. I contacted in April, they said the problem is in their system. no part I contacted them and

Customer service is very poor

I want to give this product five stars - it was certainly amazing while it worked but ours is no longer in service and the customer service was NOT good. We bought our device in April 2015. At the beginning of 2017, when our cats entered the "tunnel", the flap lock would no longer open. We glued the latch in as a temporary fix and filled out the SureFlap Troubleshooting Questionnaire. The survey revealed that the recording camera needs to be replaced and they will send to us. It was March 3…

Lots of work and no results - poor and unreliable design

We bought this cat door because a raccoon got through our magnetic door. We hoped the double scan entry would scare the raccoons away. We built a door into a wooden door and slipped the cats through so the chip reader could register them. It worked for a while. But when they installed a new garage door with a very thin metal skin on one side, the device stopped working. Following the company's instructions, we bought an adapter and cut a much larger round hole in the garage door. At the time…

Great product, works exactly as described

Great product, works exactly as described. Feels sturdy and well made. The hinged door feels secure when closed. Easy to program by following the instructions. I use this product the same as the other reviewer: I attached it to a large plastic storage box so my cat with kidney failure would have a separate "room" to eat her special prescription food without me doing anything must be different. The cat steals everything. We have a valve programmed to recognize the kidney cat's microchip and the…

Excellent product at a reasonable price

This is a wonderful, intuitive and thoughtful product. and wanted to give her access to the patio and backyard. Unfortunately we do not have landlord permission to cut holes in windows and doors; However, we do have a small window in the bathroom, large enough to accommodate a pet. At first we tried leaving the window ajar, but ended up chasing the resident cat around the living room in a fun way. We needed a way for our cat to roam freely without worrying about attracting a stray. This cat…
