This is a review of Susan Bates 10 inch needles. While I was on vacation with my two sons, a friend taught them to knit. We have special children's knitting needles for them, but when they fall their ends break off, so I decided to buy regular knitting needles for them. After learning that these needles are no longer being made I am trying to find as many sizes of these needles as possible. However, these are 10" needles and I knit with 14" needles. I need them longer because I was taught to knit with the right needle under my right hand. This brand has always worked well for me. My Belgian knitting teacher who has knitted with ALL types of needles including bamboo could never say enough good things about it. And that was good enough for me!

These needles are lightweight and made of plastic. A few years ago I bought a Quicksilver with a smooth almost enamel finish and they were lightweight. I have both knitting needles and a crochet hook. I bought them mainly for the shorter length and they fit that, but I won't be buying them again. I WANT TO ADD THAT I RECENTLY SAW IN THE WEBS YARN CATALOG THAT LARGE SIZES ARE PLASTIC. SMALLER SIZES CAN REMAIN THE ALUMINUM FINISH I LOVED WHEN I BOUGHT THEM SO MANY YEARS AGO.

I have several pairs of Susan Bates Quicksilver hooks and several crochet hooks. I love the super smooth metallic finish. So when I needed a pair of 6mm metal needles, of course I ordered them. What I received came in Quicksilver packaging and is the usual silver/black finish, but they are PLASTIC! Cheap plastic needles that I overpaid for.
