The first one delivered was ok but the rotator didn't stop when the thumbscrew was tightened. SVNONY/AMZN sent me a replacement which is good. The scope itself is so sharp that all higher level areas will be very minimal/incremental upgrades, but you pay 100 more. Compared to Nexstar 5 SE, Astronomics 70mm ED, Apertura 72mm and Skywather 72mm evostar, they are all in the same league. But SVBONY, when it retails for just $330, is an unbeatable value. Note that the rest of the optical system is…

Fatal error? in binoculars and scopes

Disclaimer: Please note that this rating is only for the 102 version of this scope. or maybe even my special specimen. Below is a list of eyepieces that were mounted on a 2" diagonal BBHS Baader that WERE NOT FOCUSED in the SVBony 102ED: Televue Panoptic 35mm Televue Delos 17.3mm Televue Delos 12mm Baader Hyperion Zoom vs like the Morpheus 14mm from Baader, the Meade 28mm SWA also did a great job. This is the most unusual and unique problem I have ever encountered with a brand new astronomical…

You get what you pay for. Except this time!

I've been wanting to get a portable APO refractor but didn't have the funds to spend over $800 on an ED doublet/triplet. I have everything from a 10" SCT to a C90, but I wanted something portable for easy viewing of terrestrial objects, but with a large enough field of view for astrophotography. I also have a Sky Watcher EvoStar 100 APO Doublet which I love but is too long to travel with. . I found this SVBONY for $400 and Revain had a coupon for it. I found what I have to lose with the free…

Amazing value for money for beginners and pros alike

SVBONY first, please DO NOT hype it up! They'll sell a ton of these, just keep up that quality and I'll be a frequent customer of your astronomical gear! Okay, I didn't want to check it before taking some test pictures. First Impression: + Very nicely done, check out the built in rotator with turnbuckles. I don't see this on much more expensive scopes, it's usually an optional accessory. + Feels solid, although I checked all the screws to make sure they were all tight, some were a bit loose. +…

Very good scope at a great price

The SVBony SV503 is a very good small ED refractor at a very attractive price. I bought it primarily as a pick-up-and-go oscilloscope, but it seems to work well for astrophotography as well. I've only had a chance to use it once to watch the moon. Yes, there was a very bright rim at the moon's edge, but it didn't bother. Overall, the visibility and details of the moon were excellent. I increased the magnification to over 100x and the image didn't break at all - not bad for an 80mm scope.…

Fantastic telescope, unbelievable price!

Look into the home of any advanced amateur astronomer and you will be surprised not only by the number of telescopes, but also by the fact that there is almost always an 80mm telescope, and you may be even more surprised what that it is used most often. Each telescope has its own benefits, and the 80mm lens is the ideal size for capturing extensive images of the night sky. Many objects in the sky are actually quite large and require a small telescope to image them, see the attached image of the
