Swanson Tool SL0002 Surface Level Review

Good for a quick rough level check on a table or countertop, fits in a pocket or takes up very little space in a toolbox. However, since it is 100% plastic and lightweight, it does not require rough handling of the toolbox, so handle it with care. Nice for the price.

Very handy spirit level, large and easy to read. Ideal for leveling any number of items: fridge/freezers, cars, trailers, etc. Although less accurate than a long spirit level, it is much more convenient to keep in your pocket or small tool box for immediate use. Machinists, plumbers, carpenters, trailer owners and do-it-yourselfers will make use of this quality and low price level.

Good: - Seems to work fairly well - Concentric rings give a good indication of the level of (in)accuracy. There was various debris and sand in the package (I wonder how it got there). Does not affect bladder visibility. Do not use for precise things: the black sphere in the center seems a bit off-center in relation to the black lines. Maybe it's just me.

Very few spirit levels can be carried in a pocket (pants or shirt) but this one can. Makes it very useful. I use it to level my drill press, saw table and countertops. Of course, for longer spans or ultra-precise work, you want the longest possible spirit level, but even in such situations, you can quickly get to "almost perfect” with this spirit level, so that you can then apply a large, long, awkward spirit level at the end of the job.
