Good screws, bad drill

Screws are fine. The beat sucks though. This was the first mission. Luckily I have other quality bits. Just wanted to share it so people know that they may need to invest in more powerful tools than the ones provided.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Nothing

Screws ok, no drills

We have these for screwing into a hard concrete pavement. We ended up having to buy a separate drill bit because the drill bit that comes with the kit isn't strong enough for hard concrete. Although screws and dowels work well.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Slightly dented

NO Self Tapping Screws - Fasteners

Who knows what self tapping screws look like, they know these are ordinary screws! It was a bargain and the dowels work well with the drill bit provided, but that is very deceptive as they are definitely not self tapping screws. Those are regular Phillips screws, period.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Ideal for plaster and masonry

I plastered walls over brick - very loose and a real headache when we need to hang something - cornices, TVs, shelves. These screws and anchors are perfect. I drilled a pilot hole with a hammer drill and inserted the dowel, then hand-tightened the screw. No problem. The plaster does not tear, does not move. Perfect length for a firm hold.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • The list goes on.

The drill was delivered in the wrong size!

What a pain. This is my first time drilling a concrete wall and using anchors. I tried to hammer them in and the holes ended up closing up and I couldn't get the screw in. Turns out they put a 3/16 bit in it and not the 1/4 bit it was supposed to come with. I messed up my project time and was alone waiting/paying for the right size bit and everything else worked fine. The return date has long passed, otherwise I would have sent it back. Be sure to check the size of the drill bit before…

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Safety

A must for plaster walls

We recently bought an old house with plaster walls and found that plaster is much stronger than drywall. Just screw something directly into the wall? Forget it! Use drywall anchors? No way - they suggest that the dowel can penetrate the drywall. No, this product is the ONLY method we have found to drive screws into our walls. You drill a 1/4" diameter hole (using the included drill bit or your own drill bit), hammer in the included bushing and screw it in. This works great. By the way, if you…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Negative impression
