Remove the old clips and remove the shafts from the trunk. Take a screwdriver and insert it under the clips and then slide it over without removing the clip. Slide the new shafts back in and reinstall the clamp and you're done!

Easy to Install. There is a clip that you insert the flat head under to release it. This is only if you remove the old ones. After the old ones were removed, they immediately got up and work perfectly. Installed on Chevrolet Malibu 2008. This product is highly recommended!

This one is a little shorter than the original but that's no problem. It needed some "breaking in" initially as it stretched and contracted with a little more resistance than the original (only one original broke and was replaced). After 2 months of use, I can't say anything about the durability.

Boot closer does not work as described. The trunk bounces when you open it! Lots of pressure on the hinges. I have trouble closing it and have to press the top of the trunk. The trunk opens pleasantly quietly at first. I gently pull the handle and it closes without pressing on the top. Exchange does not work as described! I wanted to go back and I couldn't. The original packaging is missing.

They go perfectly with my grandmother's 2011 Malibu. Easy to install (and I'm not mechanically inclined) and great price. They immediately jumped out. Another reviewer found them shorter than the originals - I didn't notice any difference. Raising and lowering the trunk requires a bit more force, but is barely noticeable (in fact, I'm pretty sure I only noticed it because another reviewer commented). I would definitely buy again.
