Autofocus works on Nikon D5600

I was concerned about buying this lens for my Nikon D5600 because based on other reviews it wasn't clear if the autofocus would work. I can assure you it really works. Attached is a photo I took with the lens. I'm a beginner but I think this lens does the job well. You can actually zoom in and see the components. I find this lens to be unbeatable value for money.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's just great

Excellent macro lens

Excellent color reproduction and sharpness on my Nikon D810! I owned my Nikon 105 2.8 VR macro lens and now sold it because this lens takes photos that are at least as good as Nikon macro photography. And what's even better, it's a lot lighter than the Nikon and a lot cheaper. Autofocus is excellent, although I often prefer to shoot with manual focus. Completely exceeded all of my expectations! Try it, you will like it.

Pros
  • Sleek design

  • Annoying

What a fabulous offer!

I was looking for a macro lens when I saw this little beauty in the thrift section of the warehouse. For $73, I barely had time to pull out my wallet fast enough for fear someone would grab it before me, but I got lucky. It's one of the sharpest macro lenses on the market, even surpassing the Nikkor 105. Why it was so cheap I'll never know, but the lens focuses quickly, accurately and quietly. Also works well with extension cords! The only downside is that it doesn't work with Nikon's cheap…

I was very excited to unbox the lens which was very good.

I've been tracking this lens for over 2 months and it's my first 1:1 macro lens. I was very pleased to unbox the lens which was packaged very well. To my surprise, the PUSH and PULL mechanism for switching between auto and manual focus works like a charm and I see no reason why people don't like this trick. The shots are sharp and not much detail is lost even when cropping. The autofocus motor makes more noise than other lenses I've used, but I'd prefer to use manual mode when photographing…

I've heard good things about both lenses

I've had my eye on this lens for a long time as I'm hesitating between it and Nikon's Tokina 100mm f/2.8. I've heard good things about both lenses, but I chose this lens for two reasons: it's cheaper than the international version, and it has a built-in focus motor (for the future). I just received the lens today and took some test shots; I'm more than impressed with his performance. I use this lens with my Nikon D7200 and the auto focus was great. Before buying a lens I was concerned that the…

I was very happy with the bargain price

Bought used from a Japanese dealer. Arrived at US address 3 weeks before estimated arrival date! The packaging was good and the item arrived in perfect condition. The lens is great for all types of shots, not just macro photography, which is fine at 90mm. Autofocus is very fast but can be noisy and sluggish in low light or low contrast. Manual focusing is a treat though, very easy to accomplish with this lens and adds to my enjoyment of shooting. A lens's maximum aperture varies with depth of…

Excellent considering the price.

At half the price of the 105mm Nikon Macro I recommend this lens. Autofocus is noisy compared to newer Nikon lenses, and switching from autofocus to manual focus seems to stutter a bit and then click loudly - so the lens isn't as perfect as it could be, but the overall quality is still high and similar to a pro lens than a whale lens. If you can't afford Nikon macro photography then this is a good choice. The optical performance seems to be excellent. I've taken a lot of great photos of…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
