Description of Brass Taprite T742HP Double Gauge Primary CO2 Regulator

Low pressure gauge (the top gauge) indicates output pressure to the keg. The low pressure regulator allows for an adjusted pressure from 1 to 50psi, the maximum downstream delivery pressure will not exceed 50psi. High pressure gauge (the side gauge) indicates CO2 tank pressure remaining. Duck bill check valve helps prevent product back up into the regulator. Assembled and Tested in the USA.

The lever is loose and cannot be tightened

The lever that goes to the outlet ball valve is really loose. The screw is tight, but the lever still has a lot of play, so when the valve closes, the stopper doesn't even touch the body, it just rotates until it hits the black plastic element. The rest of the controller seems to work fine, but I can bring it back because it's pretty annoying and slow.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons

Extreme leakage after 5 months of light use

Use this for carbon dioxide to carbonate my own water. Seems very shaky at first, plastic parts and pressure scale no longer work at all after a week. Didn't follow my instinct and brought it back as the Co2 is still flowing. Now after only 5 months it is dripping like crazy from the pressure gauge and is unusable. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Taprite.Update; opened the pressure gauge and took it with an iron to plug the leak.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Two Taprite CO2 regulators, two Quick Fails

This is the second Taprite CO2 regulator I have bought in the last 2 years. Both were unsustainable. The second device failed 4 months after purchase. The pressure relief valves on these units are incredibly weak. Taprite doesn't seem to have a rebuild kit for them and Taprite insists the seller will cover the warranty and will not extend the warranty beyond Revain's return period even though Taprite's warranty is 1 year. Very frustrating.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Five Stars for Taprite

I contacted Taprite through their 'Contact Us' page and they immediately sent a repair part. It was a little tricky getting the bellows back on, but once I got it right (I didn't understand what they meant by "put on") I was able to get it working again. I forgot you can't trust Amazon suppliers. Submit a useful product. Missed the return window of just 30 days. The knob's adjustment screw was so tight that even the WD40 and PB blaster prevented me from losing it with tools. There were no…

Regulator Leaks - Welding Equipment and Accessories

After months of use and awareness of a CO2 leak I discovered a leak in the regulator. The leak was in a CGA 320 nipple screwed into the regulator body. Detected by spraying soapy water on the joint. This must be checked by the manufacturer. Since I can't go back I had to take it off and tape it up to fix the leak. This is not easy as it is tightly twisted. Always check your regulators, new or old, for leaks. Regulators can be repaired without buying a new one. And always use a CO2 No Leak…

Affordable keg pressure valve

Bought a Kenmore keg cooler in 1992 and used Bud Light until 1994 when I switched to Beamish Irish Stout with a nitro blend until 2004. When Beamish was no longer available, I switched to Guinness until 2009, when Franciscan Dark Wheat and Hefeweizen became available in the US. Since then I've been a fan of wheat beer. The stock pressure valve worked well but had no fine adjustment and could not control the vacuum in the tank. So when the tank was empty, there was no warning. In addition…
