Description of 🌑️ Taylor Precision Products Dual Glycol-Tolerant Digital Recording Thermometer with Extended 26-Inch Probes (-40- to 221-Degrees Fahrenheit, -40- to 105-Degrees Celsius)

This Fahrenheit/Celsius switchable thermometer has a temperature range of -40- to 221-degrees Fahrenheit/-40- to 105-degrees Celsius, and an accuracy of +/-1.8-degrees Fahrenheit at 20- to 212-degrees Fahrenheit or +/-3.6- degrees Fahrenheit at all other temperatures. The unit has a 96-hour memory to record up to 60 alarms per probe, and can be password protected for added security. The unit's LCD readout displays temperatures for each probe simultaneously and has a 0.1-degree Fahrenheit/Celsius resolution. Both 26-inch probes are glycol-tolerant for use with refrigeration systems. Requires two (2) AAA batteries (included).

ERROR good for temperature and humidity

I bought this product with the intention of controlling two refrigerators. However, it does not come with dual sensors. The probe he went with is about 6 feet long. Unfortunately, I needed it and had to use it anyway. This is a totally misleading product.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Temperature and humidity accuracy and economy

- Associated refrigeration and freezer temperatures by inserting sensors in the upper and lower units. The probe wires are thin enough not to disturb the cold insulation. - Installing a subcooler on my new R410A external AC condenser. - Can be used to set superheat in AC systems without TXV. - Worth every penny.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Limited to 96 hours.

It could be a contender if the recording time wasn't limited to 96 hours. I give 3 stars because it's already average. Instead, I used Taylor's digital waterproof thermometer to measure high/low, -20 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit because it records the minimum and maximum on two heat sensors for 7 days. For my purposes of recording the maximum and minimum internal and external temperatures in a closed shipping container, this is ideal.

Annoying beeps, strange readings, illegible manual

Starts beeping randomly several times an hour even if the temperature is within normal limits. Management is terrible. A true masterpiece of complicating what should be simple. One side looks good, the other behaves strangely - at first I thought it was a bad sensor, but when I swapped it out that wasn't the problem. The temperature displayed jumps from a reasonable number for a fridge, say about 45 degrees Fahrenheit, to 32 degrees Fahrenheit immediately and then stops at 32. If it were…

Excellent Service Tool: Temperature and Humidity

I use these thermometers on air conditioners in our lab to monitor inlet and outlet air temperatures. This allows me to check the function of the blocks with just one look at the display. Once you determine what "normal" readings are, it's easy to tell when a problem is starting to develop. If the normal coolant supply temperature is 44 degrees, a rise in temperature to say 50 degrees would mean that either the coils need cleaning or the unit is running out of refrigerant. Problems on the…

Excellent Lab Thermometers

I was impressed with these thermometers, two sensors per unit. A day later I ordered a second one. Use them to collect data on a test air conditioner I'm designing for my RV. With these two devices, four sensors in total, I am confident that I have obtained accurate reproducible data that has helped me understand my system. Response time is fast, and when not testing, all four sensors register the same temperature to within tenths of a degree. I didn't think the instructions were badly written.
