Excellent Tool: Power Tool Parts & Accessories

It's way better than the old style. The carbide teeth leave a gap, making cutting much faster and allowing the plug to be removed easily. Used today.

Pros
  • Tools & Housewares
Cons
  • Vanish

Cut quickly, stayed sharp throughout the project.

Our house has plasterboard ceilings. Blunts conventional hole saws in minutes. I had to install a lot of small recessed lights, so I tried that. I've put over a dozen holes in one of these and it stayed as sharp as ever. It also doesn't catch as much as I expected. That's the quality I've come to expect from Starrett.

Pros
  • Hole saws and accessories
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Tool broke after 10 minutes of use

Really poor quality, broke in the first 10 minutes of use. I have never seen a hole saw break, I bought this item because of the manufacturer, I have many other tools from them which are usually good quality. My guess is that they bought them from a Chinese manufacturer and then added their name. BTW I drilled 1/4 inch steel on a press with coolant.

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • Expensive
