Irritating - my new review

Purchased this a while ago and waited to set it up in order to get all the needed supplies; needle cleaner, record cleaner, some D4+ , etc. Hook everything up and try playing a few new jazz and blues records only to discover my stylus is seriously messed up. It sounded choppy and like it was being dragged across gravel. I changed out cables and used pre amp also built in pre amp just to rule out anything else causing the issue. In fact was using same cables for my other turntable and they…

Pros
  • 2 speed
Cons
  • Tends to require more maintenance and upkeep compared to other turntables.

Quality Product: my feedback

The turntable is well made, quiet, and has every adjustment necessary for optimum record playing. The included AT cartridge is of decent quality and may be all that anyone wants - I replaced it with an M200 Red for somewhat brighter sound. YMMV. Overall a turntable that hits above its very reasonable price.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Limited options for adjusting anti-skate and tracking force.

Preamp EZ PZ - my new review

The turntable is so simple to attach to a receiver, with or without a phono connection, simply because the turntable has a switch for Preamp ON or Preamp OFF, kinda like wax on, wax off easy.

Pros
  • 5 pounds
Cons
  • Limited compatibility with certain cartridges and stylus types.

Terrific turntable best in my review

This turntable came out of the box almost ready to go. You assemble the turnarm and make a few adjustments, but they are simple. The sound and operation are terrific. I’ve never owned or even played a $4,000 turntable so I can’t tell you how it stacks up. But it’s works well and puts out clean, accurate sound.

Pros
  • TN400SB
Cons
  • Can be difficult to set up and balance correctly, leading to poor sound quality.

Great turntable for intermediate users

Simple setup, very durable. Have logged about 600 hrs on it since purchase and sounds continues to be crisp. Included stylus is high quality. Solid construction. Easy controls. Using it with powered speakers. Haven't used the USB digital conversion feature yet. Replaced a workhorse Vector Research turntable from the 80s, and I am very happy with the look and sounds of this one.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • May require additional equipment for proper grounding, resulting in extra costs.

Disappointed best in my review

First let me say fit and finish is beautiful. This is the second one I am returning. The reason being when unit is played thru the phono input, it has a hum on all 3 speeds. Verified thru 2 receivers. When played thru the preamp and aux input, their is no hum. But the output is clipped. I have a Pioneer PL 115D that this one was to replace. No hum playing on either receiver (refurbished SX 780 and an Onkyo TX 8020). I Also have an AT LP60 played thru the phono inputs. No hum. I use it in…

Pros
  • The TEAC TN-400S Gloss Black Turntable boasts a visually stunning design that is sure to impress even the most discerning audiophile.
Cons
  • May produce audible motor noise during use, detracting from overall listening experience

Beautiful turn table

This is a beautiful and great sounding turn table. The only draw back is at the end of the record you have to pick up the needle head and put it back.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • No built-in speakers, requiring the purchase of additional equipment for sound.

The right purchase for me

I have a large collection of lp's from the 1970's through 80's. My wife got me interested in resurecting my collection after I started upgrading my HiFi system.I knew that many albums in my collection had been played to death, and did not want to spend an arm and a leg for new equipment, while also valuing quality sound. This Teac Turntable fit the bill perfectly, I am completely happy with my purchase. The only gripe I had about this purchase is that the description says only "3-Speed…

Pros
  • High quality turntable, simple controls, can listen and record at the same time
Cons
  • S-shaped tonearm may not be suitable for certain types of records, resulting in poorer sound quality.
