So easy to snap into place once you know where the strap is. You SHOULD NOT have ANYTHING disabled if you have never had an OEM or AM brake controller.

In a confused world, Tekonsha still produces a quality part. I appreciate the commitment to quality. So far I've towed a 30ft IP trailer several thousand miles with no problems. Installed on a 2014 Ram 1500 with no problems.

Both required connectors in truck wiring harness were present, online video showed where to access them so installation was easy. The only difficulty was getting my 80 year old body to bend into position to plug in the adapter.

2 screws (on my 2014 RAM) to lower the panel under the steering wheel and it's right there. If you need directions, no need to try. or holding sharp objects. Incredibly simple and perfectly finished product. This is Tekonsha but works with Reese aggregates. I used a Reese Brakeman IV. Did!

I've never written a two star review but here it is. First I received the item in an open box, presumably as "Amazon Verified". Second, it was clearly installed in someone's car before. Third, all wires show signs of colliding with something. Fourth, the splicing doesn't look like something an automaker would do (where's the heatshrink?). I have used all types of brake controllers with a variety of trailers over the years but I have never seen anything superior to this model. I installed it on my 2013 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton 4x4 following the instructions I found on YouTube. I love a lot about this controller, but what I love most is how easy it is to set up in a snap. It also seems a lot smarter than the last few controllers I've bought as it seems to recognize the weight load and amount of braking I'm performing and make adjustments

I installed this harness on my 2013 RAM 1500 and then connected the Primus IQ brake controller which immediately made a popping noise and stopped working. After contacting Tekonsha support, they were cool enough to send me a new controller and wiring. They sent me a picture of what the wiring should look like and it's very different.
