Does what it's supposed to, no problems braking.

Bought for my 2019 Ram 1500. We just bought a 2021 Jayco trailer and needed a brake controller. Installation was easy and calibration took some getting used to. Once the brakes are calibrated, they don't need to be adjusted! We've put nearly 6,000 miles on our trailer with no problems.

Manual > Trailer Digital Accessories

We use them on all our vehicles. Ideal for braking trailers and very easy to use. My dad is a mechanic and says all the digitals that claim to be able to do what this one can do break all the time. Since this one is manual, he says it's a lot more reliable -- he's been installing them for people for years. In general, I recommend this option to everyone digital.

Good Budget Trailer Brake Controller

Good trailer brake controller for the price. Very easy to install and works great. My only complaint is that the gain is a little tricky to set up. But it could be just my trailer or because I'm picky about how it works. All in all a good quality unit that works great if you don't need a fancy expensive trailer brake controller.

ALMOST PERFECT: Trailer accessories

I think it was a great buy for the price. I recently purchased this brake controller and installed it on my truck so I can tow a 17 foot trailer 3400 miles from Texas to Niagra Falls, NY. We drove constantly through the plains, hills, mountains and back. At the same time, it is necessary to adjust the aggressiveness of the electric brakes, because on the hill they should have more grip on the descent, and on the flat, if you don't reduce the sensitivity, they almost lock the wheels of the…

Works just as advertised!

I bought this controller to tow a rented trailer on our family trip. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so based on the reviews I bought this unit and a vehicle specific adapter. I installed it on a 2012 Ford Explorer 4WD with a factory tow package. I used quality 3M velcro to secure it under the dash as I didn't want to drill holes in my new truck. Since my truck has a tow kit, all I had to do was find the connector and plug in the adapter. Total installation time was about 10 minutes. When

Excellent inexpensive but adequate brake control

After reading many reviews here, I feel more confident to buy and install it myself. Some reviews say it takes 10 minutes to install, others longer. Well, I'm embarrassed to say how long it took, but I'm still glad I did it. I'm not a short guy - 6ft 0250lbs so bending and squirming to access the under dash area was a challenge in itself. As soon as I had selected a suitable place - to the right of the center column - I began with the necessary work. I drive a 2004 Chevy Silverado that has an…
