Doesn't work, makes things worse

I bought this product to extend the WiFi signal in my apartment from the router on the ground floor to the second floor. I've had intermittent internet connection issues on the second floor for a few weeks, particularly during Zoom calls. The speed test showed a low connection speed. For a long time I could not understand why I have so many problems. I ended up trying to disconnect the Tenda extension. And then all my problems with the internet were solved! In other words, all the Tenda…

Product Quality - Networking Products

There are some issues with the product and especially the supplier. The quality of the product is low and you are lucky if it breaks in the first 30 days - you can send it back to the seller for a refund. If after that time it breaks and you should contact the manufacturer, you are in trouble. The manufacturer is located in China - the service department, if you are lucky and get an answer, is absolutely useless. Don't even try to email them - I've sent them 5 - no response

Works but needs work

Too complicated to set up if not using the WPS method. First, calling plc.tendawifi.com to access the admin page didn't work. I had to run an IP scanner on the network to find the IP address to access the admin page. And to even find this method that didn't work, I had to find their website and download the docs. Put these instructions in the box. Second, the channel width is 40MHz by default - American devices usually don't like that channel width. My phone won't connect until I change the…

  • Is there anything I can add

PA6 Wi-Fi Module has much better software than comparable products from other manufacturers; it obtains an IP address via DHCP. This greatly simplifies network monitoring of PA6 devices. However, there seems to be a downside: the PA6 can only be accessed via a web browser if the display device is on the same IP subnet as the PA6. I assume this is a security feature; but an option that allows remote control would be useful. Additional information based on additional tests: Tenda devices are…

Worth the Money: Networking Products

I LOVE this device. It's easy to set up, which is good because the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I was a little blown away by their customer service - the box didn't say the part names and tech support couldn't help me until I gave them the exact names of what I was calling about. In addition, the product comes with a 3-foot cable to connect to the router. Save time and buy a longer Cat5 or Cat6 Ethernet cable. I haven't had any internet problems since installing it; World of Warcraft

  • So far so good

Easily set up and extend your WiFi signal without long cables.

Just plug both devices into an outlet, then set up Wi-Fi security. It's important to make sure your power line is actually in the best possible connection after you've chosen an outlet. Try checking your internet speed on speedtest.net to compare results for different outlets. Also, do not plug it into power strips as this will reduce performance.

2 fingers up! in Networking Products

I am using this to extend the internet into a detached metal building where Wi-Fi is unreachable. While it's best to plug the receiver into the same switch outlet as the transmitter, I use it for two switchboards and about six switches. So far it works great, although there is a significant loss of speed in this configuration. When plugged into an outlet on the same breaker, there is no noticeable loss of Internet speed.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Long wait
