    It works great with my 19 " Dell monitor

    It works great with my 19" Dell monitor. I'm using it on a Raspberry Pi 2. I don't want to buy a new TV or monitor. I have a 19" Dell monitor that I bought with a Dell desktop over 10 years ago. I like to use it for my Raspberry Pi 2. Since it only has a VGA connector, I bought this converter. At first it doesn't work. I searched the internet and found that I need to set the HDMI group and mode correctly. After I did that it works. I'm so glad I was able to reuse my old hardware. This converter

    That works great! Sound and video exactly as expected

    I have this between my AppleTV (with tablet remote) and my "how else works" component? Only 720p TVs from 2000. This works great! Sound and video are exactly as expected and it didn't yell at me due to an HDMI protection scheme. Of course, I primarily use my Apple TV to watch baseball, which may not have these extra security measures. The problem is that they're putting something of this size in a place where they expected a nice, small, slim HDMI cable. So if you place the audio output at aโ€ฆ

    Rugged form factor. Worked for my Xbox One.

    I just got my adapter and plugged it into the back of my Xbox One and checked that the video and sound are working. I connect my Xbox to a computer monitor that doesn't have an HDMI input and use small computer speakers. So I'm not worried about the best video/audio quality. Although both are suitable for my specific needs. I was concerned about whether the form factor would fit in the HDMI output, which is next to the large power jack. I can report that it fits perfectly/reliably and hasโ€ฆ

    Sound not working

    I have a home theater system that uses an IR blaster system to control the electronics about 15 feet from the screen. I was trying to use this to connect an IR sensor with a male audio jack to this adapter. The adapter was then plugged into the HDMI wall socket. The HDMI cable runs through the ceiling to the IR receiver/blaster where at the other end I had to connect a second HDMI/Audio adapter to the HDMI cable and then connect the male to male cable that came with each adapter to my IRโ€ฆ

    Works only for HDMI to VGA adapter

    I had an old flat screen and BluRay player just sitting around collecting dust. The monitor was quite old, it only had a VGA input. And of course an active stereo speaker. So for $10 and some "found treasures" I built a small one-person BluRay player - perfect for the top of a desk or, in my case, for watching movies at work. (to check for bad disks and if nothing else was done - a fairly common occurrence in the morning). Of course, this also works for DVD. So I ordered this device and it wasโ€ฆ
