Love Teva - this model breaks easily

Love the Teva strap and fit, love the grips on the soles. I've tried on 2 pairs of these shoes in the last year and am now looking for something different. I bought my last pair in April 2022 and today (09/16/2022) the sole of one foot came off. I have not used them for hiking, just for everyday use. My previous pair had holes in the sole after 6 months of moderate use. I don't think I will buy this model again - I will return to the Hurricane. 4, which is a more robust version of it.

Pros
  • Great product at a reasonable price. It would be even better if the sole was a bit thicker and a bit softer.
Cons
  • I've just received my order and the bottom looks like it's already worn. Unsatisfied!

Bad redesign in my review.

I replaced an old pair of Tevas which I loved and which were also Hurricane Ultras but the only similarity to them is the plastic buckle clips. Everything else about the new design is worse, most notably the strap placement. Impossible to snuggle into tightly - my foot always felt like it was slipping out and if you go too fast that's exactly what happens. Hardly what you want in a "sporty" sandal.

Pros
  • Liked the product. I order for the second time
Cons
  • The sandals left a large imprint on the foot in two places and a small imprint on the foot a month later.

The straps are incredibly short.

I ordered a size 8 and Amazon sent me a size 7. The sole fit me perfectly, but the Velcro straps were too short. If the straps were the right length I would have kept the sandals. I adjusted the sandal straps as long as possible and the Velcro contact area only touched about an inch, which is ridiculous. The area of the contact patch should be nearly the full length of the belt, maybe 5 inches. You can't wear them if only 1 inch of the Velcro is touching. The tension will be too high on that 1…

Pros
  • Fast delivery and product as advertised
Cons
  • Expensive and inconvenient. If you have a wide foot none of these will fit you.

Possible Teva gray market

According to Teva support, their products are not made in Cambodia. The label clearly says they are. I called first because the straps are like hard sandpaper with very sharp and thin edges. Troubleshooting identified a manufacturing location discrepancy. Although Zappos (the actual seller here on Ebay, Teva does not have an Ebay store) is a licensed retailer, they may have received a similar product. my current pair. These hurricanes are narrower, especially in the heel area. I will be…

Pros
  • very comfortable and true to size as advertised by teva sandals years ago and I'm glad I bought them again.
Cons
  • Uncomfortable for prolonged wear.

rubs wrong; I think "sandpaper ".

I checked the underside of the straps on these sandals to see why they are so annoying. To my surprise, there is no sandpaper; just a rough remnant of the tape-making process. The people who design and make these sandals shouldn't be wearing them. They weren't cheap and I expected a lot more. I gave them a chance but they rubbed my feet until they bled. Also, these sandals tended to throw my ankles uncomfortably over the edge of the sandal no matter how I adjusted the straps. Definitely choose…

Pros
  • as described
Cons
  • The ankle straps of the Teva Hurricane XLT2 sandals are 2 or 3 inches shorter than expected!

Uncomfortable on the little finger

Was not very happy with this product. The small plastic triangle that completes the toe strap area sits squarely on the pinky toe and rubs. I'm sure sandals are great for some people, but they didn't work for my husband.

Pros
  • What do not you like?
Cons
  • Requires frequent strap adjustments.

Disappointed with my rating.

This is my third pair of Teva sandals and I am saddened by their trendy quality. My first pair lasted almost 10 years, my second pair lasted 4 years (bottom fell off) and this pair squeaks after 1 week. I cross my legs when I sit and this "black segments" pattern has been attached with velcro. . I would recommend a more canvas or solid color scheme to anyone who wants them to stay clean. I recommend it for its practicality and comfort.

Pros
  • Non-slip outsole for a secure footing on wet or uneven surfaces
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with orthopedic or medical shoes

Bad construction

These sandals are poorly designed. Jumpers are too short. Velcro is hardly enough. They are uncomfortable compared to those built many years ago. I returned them.

Pros
  • super comfy. I'm tall and heavy and they seem super stable.
Cons
  • I didn't like the stiffness of the material... I returned it.

Didn't live up to expectations

Shoes fell apart after 3 months. Probably waterproof. I bought it to use in the water. Couldn't resist. I've bought them before and they've lasted over 2 years. I was very happy with this pair. I would like to replace them with a new pair but I don't know how to contact the seller.

Pros
  • Straps are more comfortable for my big toe
Cons
  • The straps can be loose and difficult to adjust

Durable sandals with a great fit

I haven't had a pair of Tevas in about 20 years. That was my fault. As I put them on, I remembered why I loved the last pair I had. My original couple saw a lot of water and abuse. I hope they are the same as before.

Pros
  • They are really comfortable and durable, I like to take them with me when I travel.
Cons
  • The narrow toe box is not suitable for all foot types.

I am Team Teva: my review

I needed a new pair of hiking sandals and I don't like the waffle insole of many other models (like the Chaco) when I'm going to walk a few hours. Tevas has a flat, cushioned insole that has been with me for many years. I don't expect them to be any different. My wife and I also liked the color choice but this was our favorite.

Pros
  • Runs large, so order at least 1 size smaller.
Cons
  • Not as comfortable as I thought. But they seem tough enough. So I'm happy.

Beautifully crafted sandals.

I have large narrow flat feet in a size 14 and they seem perfect. Good arch support and when tightened they fit my long narrow legs. So far very satisfied.

Pros
  • Suitable for all ages thanks to the unisex design.
Cons
  • Inflexible soles can cause foot pain

There is the humble carpenter

I'm so glad I bought them in Sand/Tan. Like the color and the look. Combine that with a gorgeous white robe and people will think I was born a Virgo.

Pros
  • Available in multiple colors to suit individual style
Cons
  • Heavy and bulky to pack for travel

Good investment, good for me

All straps are adjustable, so if you need more or less space, you can do it as you like. The shoes are so comfortable. These are men's shoes, but as women's shoes with large feet, they look very unisex. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • They have been wearing clothes since the mid 1980's and continue to produce beautiful and quality products.
Cons
  • The heel strap is too low, there is no padding under the straps, it rubs a lot, the arch is minimal.

Finally! my opinion about my opinion

Eventually I got my husband into the world of Teva. Now he understands what the hell I've been talking about for all these years.

Pros
  • All good and no complaints
Cons
  • May cause leg fatigue

Glue separated within 4 months

I've been a Teva fan for a long time. The previous pair of Kleber sold out after a few years or after a few years, I don't remember. But this latest pair, purchased in June 2022, had the glue peeling off the left sandal after 4 months. I'm not sure if this is a bad glue batch or some other manufacturing issue (I'm a process engineer myself).

Pros
  • Comfortable and durable
Cons
  • Straps can chafe and cause blisters

Repel women left and right

I can't tell you how many people try to flirt with me wearing this to the club. For example, I obviously have a girlfriend, what's up with you guys? Either way, buy this. They're tight.

Pros
  • I was afraid to order them. I wore them when I was at Disney Springs in Florida. Very glad I received them.
Cons
  • She wore shoes.

Comfortable, secure fit. Happy shopping in the sale!

The soft heel straps don't itch on the skin like other brands. All straps are adjustable with Velcro at ankle, heel and over toe. The initial outsole has a slightly fluffy surface but wears down to a rubber outsole over time - very grippy. The outsole for the foot feels firm and has a slightly soft padded cushion; it does not absorb water. True to size, will definitely buy when on sale!

Pros
  • Lightweight and easy to pack for travel or outdoor adventures
Cons
  • Difficult to put on or take off

Thanks to them, the leg and back no longer hurt!

This is my second pair of this model. I'm 6ft 3,255lbs and wore my first pair for a year and a half before ordering a replacement. My originals are still wearable (and worn) but have had their fair share of wear and tear. Shoegoo for repairing air pockets. I wear them daily, lift weights, do housework, 15 hours at Disney World, I need them in all conditions! I've swum in pools with them, I've worn them in 5 degrees with wool socks or over 100 summer days! I say that to say that when you get to…

Pros
  • I like everything about them except that they stink when wet.
Cons
  • Not suitable for all terrain surfaces

Comfortable, light weight

I wasn't a big fan of the sandals but they are comfortable, light weight and hold up well when walking on uneven surfaces. They have enough support and cushioning to make them realistic all day long.

Pros
  • Use it for travel, very convenient!
Cons
  • Can be difficult to crack
