This is a pretty good grater, but I have to squeeze hard because it keeps coming off the countertop (and yes, I do wet the countertop after it's not dry attached). I'll appreciate it a lot more when the power goes out and I need something to rub (laughs). Now 3 weeks later the plastic lever that attaches to the rotating blade has broken where it locks. I grated cheese so it wasn't that hard. I wish I had bought this.

I bought this for hard cheese when somewhere it says it's not cheese. It's perfect for parmesan and romano. You only need to cut the blocks so they are about 1 1/2 inches wide for easier slicing or grating. Hold the cheese until there is about 2 inches left, then use the plunger {?} to make it. sure not to cut your fingers. I wish there were more blade options. If they appear, I'll be happy to buy them separately. Very easy to clean and the suction works great on granite.

This is a well made grater and easy to use. Easily grate an 8-ounce block of cheese in under a minute. For those complaining about it not being sucked off, the answer might be that you did what I did in the beginning. I thought I turned the suction knob all the way up. But not like this. I haven't used this for veggies so can't comment on that, but as a cheese grater this thing is amazing. I grated 8 ounces of parmesan in under 30 seconds after cutting it into 3 pieces to fit the grater hole. The same piece of cheese if I grated it by hand on a flat grater would probably take 10 minutes and be twice as messy with bits of cheese everywhere. I love this thing! I'm so glad my rotating hand grater broke as I had the chance to try it out. The suction power is amazing! It was quite difficult to turn the suction handle the first few times so my husband did it for me but it seems to be getting easier.
