Doesn't fit Thermaltake Level 10 case

Ok it's NOT the cheapest adapter you can get but (3x the lowest price) but I expected a Thermaltake adapter to fit into this Thermaltake case fits - well, it doesn't. The case has five 3.5" SATA bays, but they cannot be used because this bracket places the center of the 2.5" drive's SATA connector, which does not match the case's connector, so they cannot be used. The case also has a 3.5-inch audio jack. Bay (for a floppy drive) but the holes don't match the bracket so it can't be used. The…

This is a well assembled product that comes with a good set of screws. I used it to install a Samsung SSD in a computer with anti-vibration hard drive bays. In my custom drive bays, the drives are secured to the bottom screws (rather than the side screws) of a standard 3.5" hard drive by vibration-dampening rubber grommets. While this mount will fit all of the standard side-bolt configurations (pre-drilled holes for the bottom shell bolt mounts, which my setup rarely requires), you may want to…

Trick --- had to be modified to fit

I'm surprised they didn't think of that when designing it. Newer systems are starting to use serial power connectors on the same cable rather than separate ones, which definitely makes the system cleaner inside the case. With this, I mounted my hard drive into the bracket and the power connector and SATA cable were square in the bracket. With a quick snip with wire cutters I removed the staple from one end. I smoothed out the corners and everything worked. I understand the form factor, but if I

Beautiful but not compatible with tool-less cases

Does what it says - securely mounts up to two 2.5" drives in a standard internal hard drive slot. Here are the issues: Not compatible with newer "tool-less" cases that use pins instead of screws to secure the hard drive. The pins don't go through the holes. Luckily, Thermaltake provides all the screws you'll need - simply remove the pins from the disk tray or bracket and replace the screw with the larger of the two sizes that come with two drives in this bracket If you need to install two…

Good things about computers and accessories

Thermaltake AC0014 is better than I expected, which of course says a lot. I use it to mount a regular spinning laptop hard drive (not an SSD or SSD) in a desktop tower. Steel stamping (and how else to do it?) is pretty heavy and not thin sheet metal. It comes with all the screws you could need ie eight. The large screws are used to attach the adapter to the shaft. The small screws are used to attach the drive to the adapter. The holes match on both the 3.5" drive bay side and the 2.5" hard…

New C-RAID with (2x) 2, Seagate Momentus XT 500GB 5" drives - to take advantage of hybrid SSDs (next time I'll go for the 750GB XT or latest build!), - reduce the total storage in the case - save a few watts over previous hard disk drives - and also work better on the case fan from a kit with a beautifully designed box, screws and detailed assembly instructions. For me the assembly instructions are too much information considering this is for a mechanical part that requires no more than 12…
