Description of Thermo Tec 15003 Turbo Insulator

The key to turbo performance is to keep a flow of high temperature exhaust gases moving through the exhaust side impeller. This complete kit to contain the heat produced by a turbo fits a wide variety of turbines. The custom cut-to-fit kit comes with an excessive amount of material to cover turbos from the smallest automotive application to heavy-duty truck applications.

Works as described in parts

I used this to wrap the VF37 in my WRX and of course there was a noticeable reduction in heat. It's still not cool, mind you, but it's definitely better.

I wouldn't spend money on it

I wouldn't spend money on it, spend a little more and have a turbo blanket made for your application. The packaging basically fell apart and fell apart when I was working with it and it really hurts unless the car has a turbo.

Bad job by Revain in getting me this

This is not really a product review but an attempt to get one. I would like to rate the item, but I can't. I've tried ordering this isolator three times and always get Edelbrock Turbo seals instead of the Thermo-Tec Turbo isolator.

Homemade insulator but definitely does the job

It was exactly what I was hoping for. These are multiple layers of thick insulating material (similar to fiberglass). A non-metallic reflective material is used as the first layer, onto which a metallic material with a reflective surface is applied. Comes with basic instructions on how to cut it to fit your turbo (or other) application. The final cut is that the heat penetrates the rest of the material under my hood and I was able to shape it to fit my turbo setup exactly (weird shape). It…
