Quality product and great packaging for shipping!

High quality, looks straight and true. I have to mention the shipping packaging - it was exemplary. Shaft in a plastic base, in a cardboard box, in bubble wrap, in another very strong cardboard sheet with 3" wood ends and in a Revain master carton. This will be the shaft for my homemade 18" drum sander.

Pros
  • Bush Shafts
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

I've bought Chinese staffs that claim to be hardened.

I've bought Chinese rods that claim to be hardened but I'm a little dubious based on the way they bend. This rod is not much more expensive than Chinese rods. This wave is very well packaged. Lots of padding, in a (really) hard box with wooden ends. Now I just need high quality linear bearings, maybe from Thomson.

Large Hardened Shaft

Great! That's exactly what I wanted. Be aware that if you have to cut it out, you'll be in trouble. The injection of this shaft was done very well and was much deeper than I expected. I ended up having to chisel it as I didn't have anything hard enough to even cut through the middle. This will change the hardness near the cut as it gets quite hot, but for my application it was acceptable. If you're not sure you can cut hardened metal, just buy shorter shanks. Diameter tolerances were within…

  • Industry and Science
Cons
  • Large and Bulky
