It took me some time to use the gate at the bottom of my stairs but I was able to get it working. I could only use them on the top of the gate because the bottom of the gate rests on the ledge and they are too long for that, but using these on top and the old ones on the bottom is very solid. My dogs used to be able to kick the gate or lower it because the top hold downs were short. This is an air raid shelter. I have a Munchkin wooden gate.

I used these with a baby collar my mother in law gave me and it was missing 1 of the 4 original threaded picks. They worked well but weren't designed for use with the gates I had. The diameter of the threaded rods was slightly smaller than before. Those suction cups go a long way! The rubber ends don't have enough bite and the entire gate doesn't stay upright so I overcame this by drilling a hole in each of the pads so I could eventually just screw them onto the door jamb. Costs money!

I have had a gate for about 7 years. I bought it as a puppy for my dog. It was stored most of the time I had it and 2 turns in the spacers were lost. They work great and do their job well. I use the gate to prevent the same dog from escaping the porch when I hook/unhook him to his cable guide. As my hands tend to be arthritic and the process takes longer, it has become something special for him lately. I'm very glad I found them so I didn't have to buy a new gate.

Overall I would recommend this product. PROS For a replacement part, this product is very cheap. It was shipped quickly and arrived on time. It corresponds exactly to the description in the product description. They appear to be higher quality than the originals that came with my baby gates. I have two different brands of baby gates and they fit both. CONS They can cause significant damage to your walls if applied directly. Now I know how to put them in Baby Gate wall cups, it's quick and easy.
