This muffler is not very thick (not suitable for rust belts)

So I installed this muffler on a Jeep XJ with a 4.0 liter engine and I live in a rust belt so lots of salt and calcium are bad conditions for silencer. Also, I carry a lot. I installed it last July 2020 and just had to cut it out in March 2021 due to a few cracks/holes so it will last about 8-12 months in really really harsh conditions (constant heavy throttling, dull high exhaust temp and salt + calcium)

Fitted 1997 Audi A4 1.8t

I needed an exhaust for my fiancé's car. The standard exhaust has 2 mufflers and now a straight pipe goes to this muffler. To be honest it sounds a bit louder than the production model and has a quite pleasant tone. I was hesitant after reading the reviews but we wanted to cut the budget as she's getting a new car next year or so. The plan was to put another muffler on if it was too loud, but that doesn't bother them. There are also not many drones on the route.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

They aren't too muted

Thrush Turbo has a 'medium', slightly aggressive sound perfect for a dual exhaust V8 muscle car. I installed two of these in my old Chevy C20. I wanted to reduce the exhaust noise from the mufflers I installed, but I don't think it made much of a difference. So if you're looking for good sound then this isn't for you. Definitely a different sound than glass packaging. Scratchy sound. Buy them if you want your car to sound cool. Don't buy them if you want a quiet exhaust.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Big sound for small V6

I bought this muffler for my SUV (3.0 V6 Nissan Pathfinder) because it was cheap. After living with him for 8 months, I can say with confidence that I am in love. Makes your girlfriend roll her eyes when you step on the gas for fun, but it's quiet enough to feel free to ride with you. Paid the price many times over with the goofy grin I get every time I use my heavy right foot - the sound is nice and deep and turns into a scream when you crank it up. It sounds like the devil himself gargling…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Expensive

Not the best for Honda/Acura VTEC Series B

I have a stock B18C1 (with IAB) that comes out via a DC Sports two piece manifold, Magnaflow catalytic converter and 2.25" stainless steel hose from ebay . I removed the ebay fart can ("N1 style" muffler lol) shortly after installing the SS exhaust. Anyway, I had a muffler with a Summit chamber to replace that muffler, but it made crazy rattling noises when I accelerated hard or hit VTEC. I bought this Thrush turbo muffler as I couldn't find a stainless steel turbo muffler for a decent price…

Installed on Mustang GT 4.6 Sohc 2000 Release. Often cited as one of the best sounding V8s "There's nothing quite like the sound of a Mustang with Flowmasters." Well the Flow Masters sounded nice and "tough" but they hummed even with the stock H- Pipe so loud at highway revs (1900+ rpm). Enough to drive you crazy in a 3 hour drive. I had an off-road H-pipe with flow masters and the sound was godless but unbearably LOUD. I felt like I was going to be stopped at any second. Decided to reinstall…
