AC Power Line Splitter Review

It works fine but I berated myself after receiving this item because I wanted to buy one that was UL listed and this one wasn't (and it doesn't claim it - I just don't pay enough attention when adding to my cart). If I had to do it all over again I would buy a UL listed splitter.

They appear to be as thick and transparent as they need to be for the job. It's a line separator and it does. he is orange Nothing is missing, nothing is superfluous. Just make sure it's what you really want. You can easily measure electrical currents with most smart plugs, so only buy one if you plan to use a current clamp.

One of the great things about clamp-on multimeters is that they can see how much current your devices are drawing, especially as more and more people make the switch to solar power. This device makes this possible by isolating the two wires so you don't have to cut anything. Just plug in your device and read in a 1x OR 10x cycle (for better accuracy at low currents). This device was affordable and works as advertised.

I like this product because it is economical and gets the job done. There's nothing wrong. With this "line splitter" you can measure AC current in corded devices - resistive or inductive loads. You can use it to measure this current on a one-to-one basis, or amplify the current by a factor of 10 if needed. All in all, it's a solid piece of basic electrical test equipment.

Hadn't thought to check - but another reviewer mentioned it. My device did not work out of the box (the devices connected to it were not powered). When I took it apart and checked for continuity in various places, I found that the solder joint was not always continuous. When I checked, a piece of solder had fallen off and the wire was now free to move, confirming the cold soldering problem.
