Black Thule 599XTR Aero Adapter for 724 and 725 XSPORTER/RAPID Review

Perfect product but deducted a star because I find it a bit flimsy that the bike mount doesn't come with just these parts.

Yes Virginia, works with Aeroblades. It's a bit difficult to choose the right pair of Aeroblades for my SUV, but this adapter does the job perfectly.

The guide is terrible because there are 3 sets. The instructions are terrible because there are two different lengths of T-bolts. Since I don't have a VW, I opted for 35mm. It was a good guess.

Inherited a pair of Thule bike racks of an unknown model/year so no mounting hardware. I bought this t-nut kit and then went ahead and bought some M6X0.75mm washers and nylon locknuts to attach to my aerobars.

The product description is not entirely clear. Once you have received the XAdapt 2 and read the installation guide, you should be aware that you will need Thule "slotted" crossbars. I had a factory Ford cross member and this kit is useless to me. However, very good quality, but the instructions are not clear and complicated.

Instructions really are as terrible as others describe. I couldn't follow the instructions at all. I just gave it wings and let all the parts work for me in their own way. Not sure I assembled it correctly but it has held up my bike for 3 years now. BTW I use this kit on my Aeroblades Big Mouth bike mount.

This adapter set is required when you want to fit a bike holder to some Thule handlebars. In general, do you think: will my bike last if I'm going 70 miles per hour? And yes it will. But what doesn't work are the plastic "things" that you have to screw on to a "certain" point that isn't defined, and then you press them.
