Does it fit between car roof rack?

The only problem is that it doesn't fit well between the Prius' Thule cases and Thule suggested just throwing it over the front and back, but I didn't think it was a good idea , so I used a piece of 1/2" thick plywood that goes over the support bars and then put the bag on top using ratchet straps to hold it up. Worked great. And the nice thing is that we carried it in the car (a relatively small package) until we picked up more passengers with extra luggage, and then installed it on the…

Should last longer than 1 application.

Great for our 2011 CR-V trunk which has grilles on the front and back (not on the sides). I placed the case in the center and surrounded it with clothes in garbage bags so the edges didn't touch the cargo bag. We drove about 1000 miles on the road (1 round trip, 1 state), driving much slower than the speed limit for most of the trip (evacuation for Irma). The inside of the bag already shows signs of wear; the plastic insert is torn. I can probably use it again, but the contents will likely get…

Disappointing: Trunks

As others have noted, it was easy to load and secure; That's where the positives end for me. We drove about 1200 miles one way with a couple of sun loungers, some large beach towels and tennis shoes in a bag. All towels were packed around the sunbeds and the bag was full to prevent slapping. After the first leg of the trip, I unpacked the bag and found everything was covered in fine black dust. Apparently slamming the bag broke the inner lining (see photo). The bag was similarly packed for the…

Works Perfectly - Exterior Accessories

I read a lot of reviews on different products and each one had about 50/50 ratings. This made choosing a convertible trunk really difficult. We chose this one because of the name. We drove just over 1,000 miles from Wisconsin to Wyoming and had no problems with this product. We didn't experience bad weather so I can't comment on that. We only have crossbars on our car. The photos were taken after we arrived in Wyoming. We didn't notice any excessive noise or resistance. I used duct tape to seal

Suitable for a short trip but not a long trip

I bought this for extra space for a road trip with friends this fall and used it on an older (1997) 4ch. OK. Easy to assemble and offers plenty of space. It was a convenient way to get sleeping bags, air mattresses, etc. out of the car. The first day I rode 400 miles in the pouring rain and to my surprise it was bone dry by the end. It made a nice tight package on the SUV. BAD. We rode about 1200 miles in total and by the end the rear zipper used for cabin access was completely torn. There is a

Not bad, only time will tell.

We chose this tote bag because of the Thule brand and reputation. We used this bag once to take a four hour round trip trip over the holidays. The bag is very easy to attach to the roof and is very securely fixed. In fact, our entire journey home was in heavy, torrential rain and the bag held up remarkably well, with only a small amount of water seeping through. I don't want to get wet. Fitting Please note that this bag is universal and can be used on vehicles with side rails (only if the rails

1500 miles. no complaints

Just rode 1500 miles on the top of a Kia Sorento and really couldn't be happier. No problem with the bag, it's still intact and everything is safe and sound. Our Kia has factory side rails and we purchased crossbars as the main attachment points for the bag. I also bought rubberized padding under the bag and nylon webbing to put on. Not 100% sure that's what we needed, but we wanted a little more quiet. Each day I stuffed the bag as full as I could to reduce slapping, then tightened the side…
