Works with side bar / Wrong product description

Product description says this does not work with side bar. that is not right. We installed a Ford Fusion as recommended by the Thule website with a Thule Wingbar Evo 135 (53"). It seems durable and pretty easy to install.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Great product, difficult assembly.

Thule combo pack is great. The initial assembly is a bit cumbersome and the instructions provided are vague, had to look it up on YouTube. Once you set it up, you can put it on and take it off in 5 minutes. Very strong construction, will not damage your car.

  • Amazing

Great product in the External Accessories section

I especially love Thule because they stand behind their products. I had an issue with another Thule part and they came to the rescue and sent me a new one for free. This leg pack fits both fast aero blades and older aero bars. I used it with the install kit and it sits nicely on the roof. I had an old version of this backpack and they defiantly updated some of the features that didn't work as well in the old version. This version was easy to install and works great. Highly recommend forโ€ฆ

Water leakage through the doors during installation

I don't want to write an unnecessarily long review here, so I'll keep it short. Rainwater seeps between the door sill and onto my leather door panels. I installed everything as stated by Thule and it's just a design flaw in attaching the legs to my particular car (2012 VW Golf R). Hopefully your results will be different, but next time I'll go with a different brand because it's not what I expected from such expensive roof rack legs.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • boring packaging

I've found some really good deals on ebay for cheaper like new or used parts

I bought a Thule Rapid Traverse leg set about 2 months ago. Here are some of the thoughts I had about it. First, the price is a bit high. All Thule products. Take a look and you can build a roof rack for a lot less. I've found some really good deals on ebay for cheaper parts, both new and used. Second, the lever you use to press the handlebars against your foot can pose a problem. DO NOT try this if you are outside in the cold, it will hurt your hands (consider hitting a baseball bat in coldโ€ฆ

Super easy installation. Looks great.

I got a new truck so I decided to switch to Aeroblade instead of my old set (square tube) and they were needed. Very easy to install and according to the Thule website this set is rated at 220 pounds per bar. I don't think my square whistles/set have been rated that highly. That means I can install 2 Hullavators! They look great, a much more stylish design than my previous set. Purchased together with the following: * Thule KIT1787 Traverse System Fit Kit * Thule ARB60B AeroBlade 60" Roof Rackโ€ฆ

Used for the Christmas holidays

First things first, use Thule's getting started guide to get everything you need: [.]My wife offered to buy a car wrap to fit our Ford Focus create an upcoming 11-hour car 2 dogs. After a lot of research, looking closely at other car parks around town, and trying to figure out how best to spend my money, I settled on Thule (pronounced "tul-hey" apparently). The final selling point was the wide variety of products sold, which can easily be reused on other vehicles and with other products. Forโ€ฆ
