I bought a Thule Rapid Traverse leg set about 2 months ago. Here are some of the thoughts I had about it. First, the price is a bit high. All Thule products. Take a look and you can build a roof rack for a lot less. I've found some really good deals on ebay for cheaper parts, both new and used. Second, the lever you use to press the handlebars against your foot can pose a problem. DO NOT try this if you are outside in the cold, it will hurt your hands (consider hitting a baseball bat in cold weather, same pain). Third, the whole locking mechanism is pretty stupid. If anyone wanted, they could easily smash the case and gain access. Alternatively, if they just wanted the bars, they could just unscrew the lever inside and just push it out. I know this should be a bit of a deterrent, but it wouldn't be hard to come up with a better security solution. All in all, this is a good buy. The product has some weaknesses, but overall it's good.
