Timken 412920 Seal Review

This seal is a high-quality and durable option for any automotive enthusiast looking to upgrade their car's performance. The design is top-notch and ensures that the bearings and seals are tightly sealed. However, the price may be a bit high for some customers.

I installed 6 of these seals on my skid steer loader this week. I have used OEM housing bearing and seal kits and NAPA equivalents in the past. These gaskets were quite brittle and easily bent or deformed during installation. Not so with these! These Timken seals contain a lot more metal and rubber. If replacing a pair of gaskets takes about 4 hours, I'd rather spend a little more and buy some really good stuff!

October 13, 2016 I used these on my van to replace the factory seals. to be cleaned and repackaged. The seals must not be reused after removal. The OEM seal was Lippert Part # 122088 (GS 2250DL) for $3.77. The Lippert seal works, but it is a very "cheap" seal of poor quality. If this seal fails, the lubricant will migrate out of the spindle cavity, flow out and foul the brake pads. This creates a very unsafe mess and therefore the quality of the seal is very important and worth the extra money…
