Well done BUT. It is not possible to hold the marker pen long enough to both mark and hold the lead. As one reviewer wrote, you need a third hand. You need a set screw in the pen holder.

Works as described. I want it to be made out of a heavier metal and have the pencil snap into place. It takes a little practice to hold a pen securely. The benefit is that it saves time trying to find the middle and middle of the line. Good time saver.

This is exactly what was expected, apart from the thickness it is about 1/16th of an inch thick. However, it does not bend and works well. You will need a sharp pencil to go through the hole in the floor. I've seen others that were cheaper and I think they're all about the same.

I am restoring a porch panel and need to center the spindles quickly and easily. This center finder did an excellent job of what I needed, fast and accurate. Well please with this device and the results. If I had the ability to make changes I would use bearings as a guide rather than a metal slider. It would also be really cool if there was a way to do this with a centering stamp.

I have to lay out many aircraft parts and material samples with strain gauges, all measurements must be within 0.003 inch of engineering specifications. Most coupons are made of composite material, usually 1/8 inch or smaller. This item is about 1/3 inch clearance from the bottom of the tool to the side blades. It's useless for my purposes, I don't understand why they have such a big gap they shouldn't have. only suitable for 2x4.

I was looking for a little tool like a stuffing tool. While I wasn't sure what it would be used for, I figured my husband would definitely do it after I told him it was for marking the centers of the pieces of wood. nope He actually asked ME how to use it! Ha! It came in a box with no instructions or papers. It only took a quick internet search to find out it would be useful to him.
