short lifespan - External Accessory

Has worked for several months. I loaded my kayak yesterday and found that the racks weren't holding the air properly anymore. This meant that the kayak rested on the car roof and the straps also sagged. Luckily I had a backup system on hand. I don't know if this is necessarily a defect in this particular item or just something to be expected from an inflatable system over time. In short, they're great for getting from point A to point B, but I wouldn't rely on them. them for reuse.

I've been looking for a suitable luggage rack for a long time and decided on this one. It wasn't the cheapest, but I liked it for the large rings along the two spacers that allow you to securely tighten items of different widths. But it has two extra straps and I don't have to worry about my kayak lying on top of the car when I'm driving on the freeway. I also liked this product because the pads looked wider than most others I looked at. I also used pillows to carry lumber from the hardware…

Both got punctured on my first two rides on my boats!

The only reason I'm not giving that 1 star is because they still protect my roof a bit even with no air. I have used these roof rails twice on my 2017 Acura TL. Once to carry my ocean kayak and once to carry my canoe. After using them to carry my kayak, one of the two "posts" developed a hole near where one of the multiple D-rings goes through the post. My guess is that the plastic rubber airbag got caught between the kayak and the metal ring when I tightened the kayak. It was still usable…
