Avoid These Bits - Power Drill Parts & Accessories

Do not use on steel. They are too brittle, overheat and break even when coolant is used. I used an old Ctaftsman but it cut the same steel as butter.

cheap price Cheap items

They are cheap and very brittle. They break very easily. Lighter than normal bits. The only positive thing I can say is that they hold the lead but be prepared to cycle through all 10 bits.

Pros
  • Drill
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Dulls quickly when drilling metal

I think if you just need something to punch holes in wood or plastic they'll be fine, but we're in the middle of an assembly vehicle and hundreds of 1/8" holes to be drilled in sheet aluminum and rectangular steel tubing. These drills were only good for about a dozen holes in aluminum plate before dulling, and fewer than a dozen holes in steel each. I won't be buying them again, for what we're trying I'm happy to spend more on bits that can drill steel more efficiently.
